Re: A conversation we don't want to have.
Thank you Hap for posting that article. Perhaps you can help me understand this because the article itself didn't make it clear. It says: "And in the case of last Friday, multiple sources with intimate familiarity of the weekend’s events confirmed there was a private inspection of Beck’s bat t...

Re: Auburn Game # 1
** getting dominated again by a Friday night pitcher out of Sumner county Burns and Mullen were both recruited hard by VU. Burns wanted assurance of a weekend starting role early on which Corbs will not give (even to Rocker or Leiter). Mullen nearly committed to VU but "really felt at home&quo...

I really like this hire and was surprised when ND didn't promote him to LB coach

Re: How Many Wins Needed?
In what facets of the game will we improve? Not being cynical, serious question. Don't know what "will" be improved but there are areas that need improvement or there will be zero progress in year 2. An offensive identity needs to be established early on. In every game last year it looked...

Re: Watching the Music City Bowl?
NCAA rules are pretty clearly written. The ball was considered dead the second the tight end grabbed the runners pads and "attempted" to pull him forward. Since the TE couldn't pull the runner forward enough to show a "decidedly clear yardage gain" there was no additional penalty...

Re: Did we recruit a kicker?
Kickers are generally judged on how well they perform in camps with H.S. kicks discarded. A great number of kickers struggle to find accuracy when moving from a kicking block to lifting off the ground and Eaker appears to be no exception. He struggled a bit with drift to the right at the North Georg...

Any idea of how many (if any) can be backdated to 2021 class?

Re: Congratulations to the staff
Agreed, very good job. Per player average this is our second best class behind only the 2018 haul since 247 started their composite. Love how they stayed in and fought for some of these guys instead of moving onto next on the list

Re: Recruiting Question
World class academics at a school like Vanderbilt should be used in recruiting but I think the "academic card" has been played too often over the years and in an essence became a crutch to justify lazy recruiting. Add in many administrations using academics to justify having abyssimal faci...

Re: Bo Nix, Auburn QB
He's an elite QB who has a reputation of being uncoachable. Jordan Rodgers even said that in a live broadcast once when Malzahn was still there. Was likely Finley was going to beat him out next year as coaches want the guy the team rallies around. Maybe he'll change his approach at the next stop, ta...

Re: Agu?
His final two choices are a coach who has wanted him for 2 years+ vs a team that made an offer and initial contact, then backed off a bit while they were going after bigger fish, then whiffed on the bigger fish, and are now putting on a full court press like he's been their guy all along. Would be a...

Hands down the committee wants Bama-Mich in the championship game. Michigan-tOSU was the highest rated regular season game and had almost 4m more viewers than the second most watched.

Re: Zach Cunningham cut by the Texans
Or, all of the above to varying degrees, and more importantly the previous management gave him a contract the current folks don't wish to pay out. They renegotiated his deal so they won't take such a big cap hit. Pardon my cynicism, but it sounds like a PR move to cover for the money move. Isn't Da...

Re: OT: NIL, Texas style
Quinn Ewers that I referenced above has eliminated TCU from contention and is down to top 2 bidders (yes, bidders). Unknown what Texas Tech is offering in terms of NIL but the offer from Texas is being reported as "NFL first round draft pick" money at 4.3 million.

Re: Zach Cunningham cut by the Texans
What started out on radio down here as a huge story has quickly evolved into a hotbutton topic and becoming more toxic by the minute. According to the Texans management Zac has had a problem showing up on time for practice and other team functions in the past, when he does bother to show up, and has...

Re: Recruiting question
Another site lists 4* LB Daniel Martin as a likely Vandy commit. If he does drop anchor, he will be the highest rated recruit in the class. But I don't recall seeing anything about him here. Any of you know much about him? Oops, should have used the "search" feature first. He is mention i...

If anyone really wants to see what the long-term impact of NIL will have on the future of (former) collegiate football take a peek at the recruiting class Texas A&M is pulling in this year.
