showed some real progress. Hard to compete with an athlete going after an "Agriculture Leadership" degree!

The Parcells saying is “you are what your record says you are”. We were a 5-7 team after being a 2-10 team. Not so shabby.

The trajectory is in the right direction, perhaps even a touch ahead of schedule (i.e. from 0 Wins, to 2, to 5 w/2 SEC)- considering the full Program re-set. The progress from here only gets tougher though. Going to have to find way to beat 3-4 SEC teams a year that themselves fully expect to be Bowl elligible. CCL will need to get his players, coach 'em up, and keep them.

Lea is a lot like Mason. Learning on the job. How many assistant changes did Mason make especially in the first few years? Keep scheduling cupcakes for our non-conference opponents and we will always have a shot at a bowl.

Real improvement from this staff. The integrity of CCL and the passion and dedication of his staff has already paid dividends. This is not Woodenhoffer, Dowhawer, DiNardo, Mason rebuild, this is a solid staff with great character and confidencec. Not the great personality of Franklin, but the same strength of character to fight the fight.

In pre-season I said on this post that 3-1 non-conference and 1 SEC win would be super accomplishment. 5-7 with two conference wins is great progress. The idea of "you are only as good as your last game" is extremely poor logic. The teams don't all start from the same place, so success must be measured differently as well.

Who are "they" and who cares what "they" think anymore than anyone else?

(1) I’m not totally sold on the offensive staff’s inability to do anything to attack UT’s subpar and decimated secondary last night. That leaves room for doubt in my mind. Suffice it to say, I wouldn’t be disappointed to see some potential shake-ups there.

(2) I have to respectfully disagree re: Franklin possessing “strength of character.” The man initially tried to sweep a rape scandal under the rug by telling players to delete potential evidence from their phones and then poached the heck out of VU’s recruiting class. The second “offense” is probably to be expected out of any coach on his way out the door to a new program, but the first is unforgivable and not indicative of good character.

With the almost certainty of a nine game SEC schedule, the other three must be true cupcakes. Kind of sad because occasional games against teams from power conferences were fun. Most other SECteams will also feel the need to pad the schedule so significant matchups ooc will be rare.

We've definitely made solid progress this season. Few expected us to win more than 3 games. In the end, we were a field goal or so from going to a bowl. Tennessee is in the middle of an NCAA investigation for cheating. Probably the thousandth time that's happened or should have happened. They'll take any scumbag to their school and do anything to win. We shouldn't lose a second of sleep after losing to a program like that.

Warning: Do not hold breath till Tennessee Football or Kentucky Basketball are disciplined for any violation, great or insignificant. I just wish the NCAA would give their athletes a 4th-Grade achievement test!
