Impressions from a night of channel-flipping
Among future Vandy opponents, Wake Forest and Florida certainly looked beatable last night... Wake has a dynamic receiver back in Banks, but the Deacs looked much like Vandy last week in letting Elon mount a comeback in the second half... Florida could still right the ship, but Gator fans have to be grumbling right now about the way UF looked; their QB is a big question mark... Central Florida could actually make some noise in the Big XII (yes, they're already there)... Matt Rhule may turn Nebraska around in time, but he inherited a mess... Trent Dilfer won his opener at UAB.

UF looked bad! Utah didn't look great, but they had that home field advantage. FL made a lot of mistakes and they made them at crucial moments. Utah had at least 5 sacks. QB was so-so. They've got McNeese next week, but if they don't clean it up soon it will be another losing season for them. Should give us some hope.

UCF looked impressive but it was vs a Kent team not expected to be good this year.
If Dante Cefus (sp?) stud WR had returned, Kent would have more offense, but he got "poached" by Penn State to play his final year.

Has anyone else noticed one of the common threads that I’ve been seeing in games so far is weak offensive line performance, wake, Florida, etc. I would guess it is the evolution of offensive and defensive philosophies and possibly rules changes rather than talent.
