Baseball Tonight
The pollsters don’t seem to care about other teams’ midweek losses, but then you hear: “Vanderbilt lost to Central Arkansas.”
Let’s not add North Alabama to that conversation because ALL games show up when the Selection Committee is looking at W-L records.

Also, it's Bark in the Park night at the Hawk. The program has gone to the dogs.

Re: Baseball Tonight
Hell, if Vandy lost to the Yankees by one in extra innings at New York , they would make it sound like a massive failure.

Re: Baseball Tonight
North Alabama is 6-24. We shouldn't lose this game.
The Montgomery Biscuits AA team (Tampa) has Bark in the Park every Sunday. I used to take my Great Dane and she would have a great time. As you might expect, she got a lot of attention. One time the entire bullpen of the visiting team called us over and the guys petted her right in the middle of the game. Lots of fun for the fans, especially the kids.
Sadly, we had to put her down last April. She was 11 years and 3 months which is OLD for a Dane. Now have a five month old Dane who is now 60 pounds of energy. We will be going to games next year.

Re: Baseball Tonight
Hopefully a good game to get some of "high potential but as of now underperforming" guys (or guys haven't had much of a chance to throw yet) an inning or 2. I like the idea of using multiple pitchers in mid-week games. Wish I would hear that Dut is about ready to return.

They said Sunday he was available in the pen. Luckily we didn't need him.geeznotagain wrote: ↑Tue Apr 11, 2023 11:03 am Hopefully a good game to get some of "high potential but as of now underperforming" guys (or guys haven't had much of a chance to throw yet) an inning or 2. Re: Baseball Tonight
That's great news. I was watching (Saturday) but had it muted. I'd like to see him throw an inning or 2 tonight to get some of the rust off. I think the gap between what he is now and what he can become is as large as any of our current pitchers.commadore wrote: ↑Tue Apr 11, 2023 12:51 pmThey said Sunday he was available in the pen. Re: Baseball Tonight
Bases loaded with 0 hits: Carter pitches it hard/fast but control. And now a hit 0-2.

KIA plant is just 65 miles down the road from here. Just over the GA line. We see a lot of them.

Re: Baseball Tonight
Maldonado now hitting .372 and if you remember, he started the year 0-9. I even asked why in the world was he still DHing. As usual, Corbs knows best.
Take off those first 9 ABs, he is hitting .420.
