Suggestions To Beating UT
What do you think we could do to offset UT and maybe steal a game? I suggest:
1. Put Mnjon on Ziegler
2. Jordan or Lawrence on Vescovy
3. Put Liam on Plav##? their center but throw QMB and Dia at him to draw early fouls.
4. At all costs keep them from shooting 3's

If we lose by less than 11 would that be another "Moral" victory....

Shoot well and we have a chance. UT is struggling offensively. Have to hope that continues.Nashmann wrote: ↑Tue Feb 07, 2023 11:33 pm What do you think we could do to offset UT and maybe steal a game? I suggest:

We're going to need special nights out of Stute and Thomas from the perimeter too. I'll also add the obvious need for Robbins to avoid early foul trouble (if the zebras don't put the fix in).

Great stat from the Ole Miss game:
While Robbins was charged with only 2 fouls (both in the final 1:28), HE WAS FOULED TEN TIMES!
Maybe get their players in foul trouble.

Did I see the puke urnge viles are only a 9 point fave?
Are people falling out of love with them after the tainted ref-aided "win" over Auburn??

Re: Suggestions To Beating UT
Robbins needs to be playing at least 30 minutes or as many minutes as foul troubles allow him to. He has become near impossible to guard without fouling, and is drawing fouls at an incredible rate that ranks 5th in the nation. His FT% of 76% means that when he is fouled he is basically getting about 1.5 PPP, a very efficient number in addition to creating foul issues for opponents. Hopefully he will be able to avoid early fouls and play a lot of minutes. If he can it makes our defense a whole lot better (his blocked shot rate is 2nd nationally) due to his rim presence. The only thing he is not doing well this season is hitting his three point shots and in general attempting too many of them.
Our offense has to run through Robbins to be successful short of us hitting a bunch of three point shots.

Re: Suggestions To Beating UT
As mentioned above, Stute and Trey have to hit their 3s tonight. I believe the effort will be there and Liam is a dominant force inside. The guys we consider our 3 point specialists have been inconsistent over the year. If there were a night to have both of them heat up, tonight is the night.

Here's an idea. Don't start your best players in order to make the Vols drop their guard. Lol
I remember watching Ray Mears riding his unicycle around the court in that horrible orange blazer while we sent a few oranges his way....

I saw the heading and was going to suggest using a couple of rolls of nickels in a pillow case, but you guys are talking basketball strategy.

Re: Suggestions To Beating UT
They should try a play where our speedy point guard gets downhill and finds a guy who most people were down on at the beginning of the year for a wide open threeball.
