Loved la chance. Every time I hear fans of other teams say “hasn’t that guy graduated yet?” It usually means he’s been an impact player for a long time. And they said that about La Chance a lot. Plus, he looked like he was 13! To make third team in the first quarter of a century team is pretty damn good.

Re: 21st Century Teams
There was a gap at some point, but for a long time we had a series of players that fit the description of "unathletic white guard between 6-3 and 6-5 who can shoot".jeff93 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 11:23 pm Loved la chance. The lineage from when I set foot on campus went something like Drew Maddux to Sam Howard to Scott Hundley to Dan Cage. I guess we could then extend to Brad Tinsley and then to LaChance if we don't mind that Tinsley was a PG and not a 2-guard.
And for opposing fans that don't really follow our roster closely ... they might have thought Riley was in fact Drew Maddux somehow getting a Josh Henderson amount of eligibility.

Re: 21st Century Teams
Ogilvy gets a bad rap for not meeting sky high expectations. He was a finished product when he got here and he gets penaltized for that. I feel Luke was our best all around C since 2000 but I put AJ next above Festus.

Re: 21st Century Teams
But they played in the same century as Matt Frieje, who made the first team.

Re: 21st Century Teams
What does that have to do with anything? Matt played from 2000-2004. So while you are correct technically, the post if for 21st century players, which Matt played three seasons. Cox, Goheen and Perdue definitely did not. One can easily ignore Freije's freshman season and his ranking doesn't changed at all.nyyankeeDore wrote: ↑Sat Jun 17, 2023 8:53 amBut they played in the same century as Matt Frieje, who made the first team.

Re: 21st Century Teams
Jermain Beal
Shan Foster
Derrick Byars
Matt Freije
Luke Kornet
Saben Lee
John Jenkins
Jeff Taylor
Corey smith
Festus Ezeli
Pippen Jr
Aaron Nesmith
Dan Cage
Jeff Roberson
AJ Ogilvy
Supremely talented but didn’t win the big games:
Wade Baldwin
Damian Jones
Then you have Darius Garland who looked like the most talented player to wear a Vanderbilt uniform in the 21st century and maybe played 4.5 games. Liam Robbins was the best big man we had in the 21 century but collectively might have played one seasons worth of games.

Re: 21st Century Teams
It's easy to be brief when you are ridiculing a wrongheaded post. I was thinking of Dan Langi (instead of Matt Frieze), whose career ended in 2000, the 20th century's final year.MrMemorial wrote: ↑Sun Jun 18, 2023 9:36 amThe two shortest posts in Jason history.Jason94 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 17, 2023 6:16 pmWhat does that have to do with anything?
