Yes, the Chattanooga Baylor Red Raiders scheduled a game in Dublin Ireland... earlier today, they improved to 1-1 by defeating Seton Hall Prep 42-7 in a weather-delayed game. (Yeah, these HS road trips are getting a little out of control, but what an experience for the players.) Below, see VU commit Whit Muschamp (No. 9) completing a pass for the Raiders' first TD.
Later, a quick toss to Alabama commit Amari Jefferson for a score...

Was this like a band trip in which the participants had to raise travel money by washing cars and selling candy bars?

As a Chattanooga resident, I can report local chatter is that Baylor covered the travel cost for those players who are on scholarships. Those who are not on scholarship had to pay $3,000. If you didn't pay (as I heard one father said NO), you did not make the trip.
And YES, even high school sports are getting out of hand. Earlier this year there was a report of a group of 3 high school players in Memphis who received NIL deals.
