Vols Coaches with Show Cause Penalties

Post by Seadog73 »

I can't help wondering - with the number of football coaches and staffers who received show cause penalties, and adding Bruce Pearl, does UT lead the nation in coaches and staffers who have received show cause penalties, all time and all sports?

They could build a "Wall of Shame". And already have a pretty good start.

I may be wrong, but UT has to lead the pack. Pearl plus two assistants got show cause penalties. Pruitt plus 6 others got show cause orders. That's 10 total coaches and staff members over the years with show cause orders for activities at UT. Can any school beat that?

Baylor got 3 for the Dave Bliss scandal. Indiana got 2 counting Kelvin Sampson and one assistant. Donnie Tyndall go a 10-year show cause for his coaching at Southern Miss that led to his firing at UT (can that count against UT?).

And, sadly, Kevin Stallings got show cause for things at Pitt.

The rest are in single digits and not close to 10 total.

That's what I have found. Sounds like UT is Show Cause University. Convince me I'm wrong.
