Agata seems to be counting down the days, and that makes me happy. I am very excited about this young lady. She has a chance to be a terrific shooting guard/wing player. Can run, handle the ball, shoot from all over and pass it. Classes start Tuesday, and freshmen usually move in the weekend before.



Coach Ralph obviously placed a premium on her recruitment. Agata committed to Vandy last June, but in September, she and Kevin Demille still flew to Poland to visit. When the original photo from the Makurat family home was posted back in September, Agata’s mom wrote how special it was that the coaches flew across an ocean to have dinner with the family. I think Demille also knew the family from sister Anna’s days at UConn.

I just found this link to her fiba page in 2022. I would not be surprised with her size and guard skills we could see Agata playing in the frontcourt alongside Sasha. We can certainly use a power forward that can catch and pass the ball, shoot the three, handle the ball, rebound, block shots, and play tough defense.

Stats are not very impressive.

The last I saw, she had not yet arrived on campus. Anything new on her status?

Haven't seen or heard anything, but there is no indication of a problem.There was communication between the family and staff last week indicating she was getting ready to come.

Any update on her arrival on campus?

Turns out she is having Visa problems but should be here in the next week or two.

If this is true somebody dropped the ball. This international “trip” was known about months in advance, and someone should have made the necessary arrangements and started the paperwork long ago.

Not so fast. Visa processes are often byzantine and hard to navigate no matter how long the runway. Let’s hear some facts before anyone accuses someone of performing poorly.
