Kickoff 5 weeks from today. This morning (Saturday), they laid out the north end zone carpet, with 5 guys and a couple of small machines.

Re: Links to stadium construction livestream cameras
Quite a bit of steel erected today (Thursday, Aug. 16) in the north end zone. You can now see the outlines of what will be the decks overlooking the field. And the temporary padded fence at the edge of the end zone is nearly complete.

I don't see the padding yet; looks like a standard wooden fence. Reminds me of Bump Bailey (R.I.P.) running through the outfield wall in The Natural. Or minor leaguer Rodney McCray doing the same thing (in real life) a few years later.FayetteDore wrote: ↑Thu Aug 17, 2023 2:19 pm Quite a bit of steel erected today (Thursday, Aug. 16) in the north end zone. FWIW, AD Lee was on the Doug Mathews radio show this morning, I don’t know if a podcast is available but she had a lot to say about the stadium construction, NIL, transfer portal etc. They will be bringing in a portable video screen for this year and the capacity after the renovations will be in the mid 30,000s. Also, the fundraising has already exceeded the 300 million goal.

You were right. They're installing the padding over the north wooden fence today (8.22).Versus75 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 17, 2023 4:29 pmI don't see the padding yet; looks like a standard wooden fence. 72 hours out from kickoff and no scoreboard or video screen...yet. Cutting it close, aren't they?

Still think mid 30s is too small, Nashville is growing rapidly.MikenNashville wrote: ↑Sat Aug 19, 2023 12:04 pm FWIW, AD Lee was on the Doug Mathews radio show this morning, I don’t know if a podcast is available but she had a lot to say about the stadium construction, NIL, transfer portal etc. They will be bringing in a portable video screen for this year and the capacity after the renovations will be in the mid 30,000s. Re: Links to stadium construction livestream cameras
But hey, the advertising logos are being put up on the end zone padded walls!
Trust the process, Auric.
EDITED TO ADD:
Wow, watching them assemble what I THINK will be the scoreboard like a jigsaw puzzle isn't quite as fun as tracking the plane in 2010, but interesting.
Given how close we are to the game and how tedious it is putting the thing together, I sure hope the damn thing works.

Re: Links to stadium construction livestream cameras
Anyone thinking there won't be any construction related "hiccups" in Saturday's game is likely an unredeemable optimist.
Always hopeful; rarely optimistic.

Re: Links to stadium construction livestream cameras
I drove around the stadium on Sunday after helping a friend's son move into his dorm. It certainly was not ready at that time to host a game. The walkways and the entrances were littered with debris. There was a lot of cleanup to be done in five days. My friend said some drunk idiot will likely get hurt walking through that mess and sue the school.

Looks like that may be the case, unfortunately. It's mid-day Monday and they're still dark. Don't see why they can't be turned back on through the week.

Cameras back on with new YouTube links; VandyMania thread updated. They'll probably be turned off again on Friday.FayetteDore wrote: ↑Mon Aug 28, 2023 11:15 amLooks like that may be the case, unfortunately. It's mid-day Monday and they're still dark.
