This is about the 5th time in the last 12 years that I've wondered this.
There were years that Vanderbilt under Stallings would fade at the end of the year, then bomb out of the SEC tournament and end up a 3-5 seed. Then they would go out there and play just like they did in the SEC tournament, and lose right of the bat.
THIS team, on the other hand, might have really made some noise.
EVEN IF VANDERBILT HAD BEATEN TEXAS A&M, and of course that wasn't close, I think they'd have missed the NCAA's.
So why even have the SEC tournament, and why buy tickets and go?
So why even PLAY the SEC tournament?

It's about the 12th time in 12 years I've wondered this. It's clearly just for the money. The selection committee Does. Not. Care.historybill wrote: ↑Sun Mar 12, 2023 6:52 pm This is about the 5th time in the last 12 years that I've wondered this.

So the Dores can whip Kentucky again and Tennessee can be one and done. Now that's entertainment!
Re: So why even PLAY the SEC tournament?
It's a legitimate observation. It looks like there's very little reason to play it at this point.
