I don't think Vandy has been too worried about hanging onto Junior Sherrill (WR commit from state champion Lipscomb Academy), as he has family connections to Vanderbilt. However...

His coach Trent Dilfer, the new coach at UAB as of Friday, has extended Sherrill an offer... the lure to play in a familiar offense under his old coach, under whom he starred and won two straight championships... might be very appealing.

I suppose I could understand the appeal of playing for your old coach. But trading VU for UAB seems like an unwise move on so many levels.
But then again, I’m not a 17-18 year-old kid who lacks hindsight or the wisdom that comes with age. Hopefully the 40 year decision and the SEC are enough of a draw.
