Portal additions
This morning's headline addition is South Carolina mainstay JERMAINE COUISNARD.
12ppg / 3assists / 3 rebounds per
Not a great shooter but a tough defender.

Re: Portal additions
Saw this one, too. He will be a graduate transfer. We could do a whole lot worse than a player with three years of SEC experience under his belt who can handle, dish, and defend. He doesn’t have to shoot if he can find Stute, Robbins, QMB, Wright, and Dezonie (or the incoming freshman, most of whom have shown some scoring upside).
That said, he is a little turnover prone. 3.2/3.0 ATO

The merry-go-round continues. Where it stops no one knows. It seems to me that anarchy prevails.

Lots of the names in there will end up at tiny schools that make St. Peters look like Ohio State or UCLA.LawoftheWest wrote: ↑Mon Mar 28, 2022 1:04 am The merry-go-round continues. Where it stops no one knows. It seems to me that anarchy prevails.

Re: Portal additions
He can play point, but is a pretty inefficient player - not a great shooter and doesn't draw very many fouls at all for a player who isn't a spot up jump shooter. Turns the ball over a bit more often than is optimal. If he had the numbers he had this year as a freshman, then that would be pretty promising. As a junior he seems like a backup point guard on a pretty good team but perhaps stretched to have a rotation spot on a good team.MrMemorial wrote: ↑Mon Mar 28, 2022 6:04 pm Former VU recruit Austin Crowley (Ole Miss) in the portal.

Re: Portal additions
Andre Curbelo, a PG from Ill who was really good as a freshman but missed a lot of games this season due to a concussion suffered 4 games into the season is in the portal. He shot really poorly from the floor this season but shot well inside the arc last season. Hasn't shown he can hit the three but doesn't attempt them that often (or maybe therefore) but does show the ability to draw fouls and hit his FT's at a reasonable rate. Good assist rates but turnover prone.
He would be a good replacement for Pippen and if CJS can develop him there is a lot of talent to work with.

His A/To ratio is on the correct side for a PG. Not very big though, 5-10?doubledore9603 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 29, 2022 1:40 pm Nick Honor with confirmed interest from multiple schools…3 SEC schools. One of these is not like the others…
One of those schools is not like the other? The only for-profit "school" in the NCAA perhaps? LOL!!!***

Re: Portal additions
His assist rate is ok for a point guard (though much higher than anyone on our team no named Pippen) but his TO rate is really, really low for a PG. He isn't a great shooter, but his TO rate means that he is pretty efficient. Appears to be a reasonably good FT shooter but doesn't get to the line very often. We would need a true scorer at the other guard spot if we added a player like him to play the point.MrMemorial wrote: ↑Tue Mar 29, 2022 2:23 pmHis A/To ratio is on the correct side for a PG. Re: Portal additions
LSU with 3 more into the portal in the last 24 hours. Wow!!
Most of Murray State is in the portal. Prohm will be able to create a team from scratch. He always was better at recruiting than on-court coaching. Watch them rebound in a couple of years back to mid-major powerhouse status. But next season won't be it.
