Tonight (vol. II)
I see we are double digit dogs to UK tonight. Kenpom has them rated #2 in the country. Will be a struggle for us to win three in a row. Last night we played with great heart and determination but I thought we were bailed out by very sloppy play and poor free throw shooting by a very athletic team. UK has the athletes but plays with better control. For us intense defense and decent shooting are key.
Can we muster the energy? Are we quick enough and can we get to the 50/50 balls? The guys face a real challenge but the team and the staff know what they are doing.
Looking forward to posting volume III tomorrow...but it will take some extraordinary effort to get there. Win or lose tonight really like this team, great to see Vandy basketball back. Thanks

Re: Tonight (vol. II)
Stack said he "brought 5 suits and told his coaches to bring 5 suits to Tampa:" plans to use a different suit coaching on the sidelines each day. It will take a much better game tonight than last night, but just as much resolve to beat UK. It was Stack who before the Georgia game said: "it is hard to beat a team 3 times" so let's hope UK can't do it.

He also told his assistants, "Don't get on the plane if you haven't packed 5 suits." Got to love that intensity.charlestonalum wrote: ↑Fri Mar 11, 2022 8:44 am Stack said he "brought 5 suits and told his coaches to bring 5 suits to Tampa:" plans to use a different suit coaching on the sidelines each day. Re: Tonight (vol. II)
UK is going to bring the defensive intensity just like Bama did. We've got to be able to handle some pressing and them trying to take away the 3. Also, rebounding and blocking out need to improve from last night. I feel like a win is possible, but we've got to play better than we did last night.

a key question: can robbins/qmb avoid fouling out while trying to contain oscar tscheibwe (sp?). chatman must stay in the game also if we are to have a chance tonight.

Re: Tonight (vol. II)
Thinking ahead, the real issue would be playing the fourth game on Saturday on short rest (7:00 PM Friday, 2:00 PM on Saturday).
