Peyton to Teach?
Remember article admiring Manning's work ethic at Tennessee. How he watched film, practiced on the field, hit the weight room, etc. Wondered then, if he had any time left for academics?". My guess, he didn't. Very few, if any, athletes anymore are "real" students, working toward a degree not "worthless"! The fault lies mainly with college and university presidents not policing the situation, who looked the other way, being afraid of alumni or wanting the revenues more than "really" educated athletes; blame also due the college accreditation community who, in my opinion, are useless bureaucratic academicians. So now the jock fox is in the academic henhouse, "What a farce continued!".

Supposedly he was a good student and made high grades. However, he went to UT at the time when all of UT’s football players made good grades and didn’t even attend classes most of the time. Linda Bentsel-Myers, who was a teacher at UT at the time, was outspoken about it and she received a lot of death threats from UT fans who didn’t want to hear about how they were cheating the system.

The governor of Tennessee should have immediately hauled the rear ends of Phil Fulmer, the UT president, and the UT athletic director into his office when the story broke, demanded immediate correction of the situation, full reinstatement of Dr. Bensel-Meyers, an open public apology, and the termination of these 3 aforementioned UT officials! Collegiate athletics has morphed into "minor league" sports! The college moniker is, in reality, a facade!
