In recent years, the Yanks have certainly focused on VandyBoys or Vandy commits in the early rounds.

Volpe, their current ss, was a commit. Spencer Jones is tearing it up in the minors. Lombard is the latest Yankee first-rounder with strong Vandy ties.

Good for the brand, I guess. I do wish more of these kids would make it to campus. Living in a Carolina League town that I love, I still suspect a couple years of college would be more fun than two years of bus trips around single A venues.
