Tennessee Tech? Seriously? They're 2-7 in what's left of the OVC. They were 3-17 on the road.historybill wrote: ↑Wed Apr 19, 2023 7:32 am .. .include LSU (8-5 to Louisiana), Tennessee (12-5 to TN Tech) and Alabama (4-3 to UAB).

Re: Other SEC teams that lost last night
It's baseball, relax all. Pitching health and starter's slumps are likely much more relevant.
The regular season for the good SEC teams is fast becoming, to me, simply a drawn our preliminary round to try to earn a 1-8 seed to the post-season, as nearly all top SEC teams will make it to the field of 64. It makes the mid-week games a bit of a side show--or a way to keep younger guys and non-starters fresh and ready for the drain of the post season when the reserves can be very important.
Last night's game was a lot more important to them than us. And they accomplished what they needed to do in fine form. On the other hand it did show some holes in our pitching. Really odd how our SEC batting stats seem to my unknowledgeable eyes to be much better than against non-SEC opponents.

UT lost to Tech last year too, ending a 23-game Vol win streak at the time.MrMemorial wrote: ↑Wed Apr 19, 2023 7:41 amTennessee Tech? Seriously? They're 2-7 in what's left of the OVC. This year's UT team is far different from last year's but the 2022 and 2023 teams share losses to the Golden Eagles. VU of course beat Tech 12-1 earlier this season, and also beat them last year. .
Can't scamper or slither...but I used to swim.
