Re: Jordan Wright in the transfer portal
Portal and NIL combined have completely undone college sports. Now that they are pros with annual free agency, have the pay their won scholarships? Makes no sense that schools pay all the expense and see no reward?
Re: Jordan Wright in the transfer portal
Agreed. College sports have now become semi pro leagues. Programs spending tens of millions of dollars on facilities and salaries which just ruins the essence of the student athlete experience. Jordan has done all that he was suppose to do and is a great ambassador for Vandy.dorelover82 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 27, 2023 8:33 pm Portal and NIL combined have completely undone college sports. Re: Jordan Wright in the transfer portal
NIL may actually create more parity in the game. You can't simply stack up a bunch of players and not let them play.

Vandy eliminated its 5-year joint undergraduate/MBA program a couple of years ago, and it is virtually impossible these days to gain admission to a top-tier MBA program without work experience. (It does offer a one-year masters of marketing program.)

Re: Jordan Wright in the transfer portal
This transfer portal with no repercussion is turning out to be exactly what I predicted.....the undermining of college basketball.....it will show in reduced attendance.

Re: Jordan Wright in the transfer portal
Wright currently checks in at #29 on 247sports portal rankings. He will be difficult to replace.

Re: Jordan Wright in the transfer portal
Wright averaged 10.6 ppg... shouldn't be difficult to replace that. Yes, he played decent defense too...#29? Hmmm...Yes, he was a great guy and representative of Vandy also. I think there will be fewer and fewer 4 year at one school players in the future.

Re: Jordan Wright in the transfer portal
Listed right above Wright at #28 is Chris Ledlum, grad transfer out of Harvard. Landing him would be awesome. Listed at same exact size as Wright in his player profile (6’6 215). Averaged 18.8 and 8.5 along with 1.6 assists. Not sure about his defense, and obviously SEC is a bit different than the Ivy, though Yale gave VU all they wanted. Princeton made the Sweet 16 as a 15-seed, too. Ledlum would be an awesome catch.

He has in fact committed to LSU. I’ll cut him some slack because that’s his hometown.MrMemorial wrote: ↑Wed Apr 05, 2023 12:41 pm Wright didn't pick LSU did he? Tell me that's late April 1st joke. PLEASE!
