Perhaps Clemson checked out? I didn’t see the game but I heard the had a strong case to make the ncaa tournament. Anyways, if we beat Michigan we can host a third and final NIT game before vegas.

IMO, Clemson was one team that had a bigger gripe than us. They were the 4 seed in the ACC and whipped NC State decisively TWCE late in the season, including once in Raleigh. Yet NC State got in and Clemson got the finger. Story is very similar- mediocre to bad play in December (including a loss to South Carolina) and a bad road conference loss late in the season (Louisville).

The NET is simply a flawed* metric as a slow start effectively seals a team’s fate. Early games seem to carry more weight than games in the end (the reverse of what ought to happen) and a team’s early rating puts in place a lot of inertia. The “committee” has got to do better.

On the plus side, VU is on a path to Vegas without leaving Memorial.

It was anounced before the game Coach will be back. Fans are not that upset: all eyes are on Dabo and football.
