Seniors: Next year's starting 5
I have been following VU Basketball for 30 years.
Could next year be the first ever in my recollection to start 5 seniors?
PG Manjon
SG Lawrence
SF Wright
SF Stute
C QMB

Unless someone has hear differently, I do not expect to see Wright on the team next year. I also wonder who would start between Dort and QMB. They bring so many different things to the table. I bet they get equal PT next year regardless of who "starts".
Good point about the senior loaded team, though. Been a while, right?

Why would Wright not come back? He is playing great and could have a great season.

I'm very sure Manjon will be back. Much less sure on Wright. I hope so, but not sure what degree program he would be in.

Hopefully Lee Dort will be starting and QMB can stay in his role. I could see Wright being the sixth man and providing his calm presence off the bench. (If Wright does return). I have no inside info on him. I would like for him to return but he’s also a young guy that might want to do something different after 4 years of undergrad.

I mean, outside of this season, which also had a senior laden team (Ansong, Robbins, Wright, Manjon and QMB are all seniors). I would want to see Dort taking a step forward and really getting at least a split in minutes if not the majority at the 5.Vandamnit wrote: ↑Fri Mar 10, 2023 9:20 am Unless someone has hear differently, I do not expect to see Wright on the team next year. But at the moment there is at least one player who has eligibility who will not be back, and possibly more based on CJS' reaching out to grad transfers. But who knows who might leave?

I would expect Smith to get a lot better next season, certainly at a faster rate than Stute will.
