The Athletic gives a grade to every Power 5 team from Tennessee (A+) to Iowa (D+). Vanderbilt gets a C+...
Yes, that’s grading on a curve, especially after a 55-0 loss at Georgia that came a few weeks after a 55-3 loss to Alabama. But what did you expect from this team? For those games to be unsightly? Yes. This is by far the least talented team in the SEC and right around the bottom among Power 5 teams. Did you expect Vanderbilt to be up 20-10 on Ole Miss after 28 minutes of football? The big plays that blew the game open for the Rebels were supposed to happen. How about for Vanderbilt to be hanging with Wake Forest for a half? Clark Lea has fostered significant improvement in his second season – as seen in a gutty comeback win at Northern Illinois and wins over Hawaii and Elon in which the Commodores scored a combined 105 points – and appears to have found his quarterback in freshman A.J. Swann. Now the big test is whether his team can reset and hunt more wins after the Bama-Ole Miss-Georgia trifecta of terror. — Joe Rexrode

That seems to be a good report!

Still hard to get a read on the Dores.
So far all we know is:
they're 50+ points worse than #1 and #6
they're 20-ish points worse than #7 and #13*
they're quite a bit better than the bottom 25
they're better than a good FCS team
This weekend should help us narrow that down. Of course, matchups are everything
*You could make a case that since #13 took #5 to double overtime, they are evenly matched
