Scottie Pippen is now the holder of the single season points total, with 708 points on the season and counting, surpassing Billy McCaffery's total from 1993 of 699 points. My math might be off, but he now has a career total of 1549 points, which would place him 12th all time between Tom Hagan and Jeff Fosnes. He needs 30 more points to pass Fosnes, but John Jenkins is 111 points away, so he probably isn't breaking into the top 10 without another season. He has also broken Clyde Lee's record for FG attempts with 517 this season. He has shattered AJ Ogilvy's records for both FTA and FTM with 291 and 215 respectively and has the record for most FTM in a career with 491, also breaking Ogilvy's record. He is 29 FTA away from breaking Bobby Thym's record of 675 - probably would require us getting to the finals of the NIT.
Pretty impressive numbers for someone who has essentially played a little more than 2.5 seasons. Another year and he would shatter a lot of overall records. Great player who played two seasons for some really bad teams but still has gotten notice. Hope we continue to make some noise and thought it seems unlikely, would be great for him to be back for 1 more season to make a real tournament run. We would be really good next season with him returning even without Chatman.

Re: Pippen
I am pretty sure he will not be back, but the possibility of going down as the greatest Vanderbilt player of all time, owning every record in the book, and even having a statue of him put up in front of Memorial Gym has to be a little appealing.

Re: Pippen
UK Coack Cal says: "he is very crafty" and that really describes him. He understands the game, is uncanny in his ability to speed up and slow down to get looks that either are open or result in a foul. His defense has really improved this year. If we had a winning team all three years, he would be considered one of our best players - he would be right there with Clyde Lee, Billy McCaffrey and a few others. He certainly will be missed next year. Oh, and he is a perfect example of our coach's ability to develop players: remember he was not a highly prized recruit and has made all SEC two straight years.
Re: Pippen
If he sticks around, takes us from 0-20 to the Sweet16, and becomes the all-time leading scorer in VU history, His jersey should hang from the rafters.

Re: Pippen
That’s a much more reasonable scenario….of course if this occurs, these events will transpire! I don’t see any statues under any circumstances.
