Bama would appear to be the favorite by just about any metric you want to use, especially the home court advantage. They've been tough at home, including a 10-point win over UT. The lone major item on the positive side of the ledger for Vandy is that we should have beaten them at home. To me, that was clearly the major disappointment of this season. Vandy had all kinds of opportunities to take the game, including the final shot in regulation but just couldn't get it done. Finally, we lost in OT.
Vandy has been doing the one-step-forward, two-steps-back dance all season long. I'm not criticizing. There have been more steps forward than I dared to hope for at the beginning of the season. Today would be great opportunity to stop that dance by following up a big win over Florida with a road win over Bama.
This quarter would be an excellent time for Iyana to break out of this little shooting slump she's been in the last couple games. She's wide right on nearly all her three pointers.
Up 9 now with 6:18 left in the 3rd at 43-34. I was afraid our goose was cooked when we went down by double digits in the first and am very happy to know those fears didn't materialize.
I’m trying to watch baseball and listen to baseball.
Charlie Mattos thought Jordyn would get 2 shots and Bama may be charged with a flagrant foul. Instead, Bama is shooting technicals.
If you hear about this in the presser, please let us know what happened.
Welp, entertaining game, but unfortunately we came on the wrong end. Sacha Washington, another wow game, with 23 points incl 5-5 from FT line and 13 rebounds. Her growth over this season has been incredible!

On the Cambridge “no foul” it was just called blocked shot out of bounds.
Shea Ralph Teed up for running to Jordyn’s aid.

Dang! I dont usually complain about refs but thought they were bad today - they were clobbering us & no calls; the no call on Cambridge shot was TERRIBLE, the T on CSR was equally terrible (see many coaches rush onto the court to chk on hurt player) & lot of ticky tac calls on us; that said - we had chances to take the lead & couldnt hit the shots we needed. Our young kids getting valuable experience. Hope Cambridge does come back if indeed she got accepted to grad school. The future looks bright. Could see us rallying for a win in SEC tourney. Proud of this team - we've got your backs.
Have I ever mentioned how poor the officiating is in WBB? For the 436th time I will mention it again…is there no evaluation by the SEC office on these officials? As long as SC and UT get a good seed in the national tourney, I guess that’s all that matters!!! CRIMINAL!!!
Seems we have never, at least very very seldom, been on the positive side of refs - remember when Chantelle used to get absolutely assaulted under the basket with no calls & we were highly ranked then.
