Charlie Mattos' Final Home Game
Apparently Charlie is going to hang up his spurs. Not a big surprise, I guess. A couple years ago he didn't do road games, and Max Herz stepped in for him. I guess he decided to do a final tour of the SEC this season, and he seems to have really enjoyed watching this team. I hate to see him go. He does a great job and does it without a color commentator.
I thought Max did well in his place. Not sure if he or the radio station are interested in making that a permanent thing.

That's the end of an era. I've really enjoyed his broadcasts over the years. Back in the olden days, when "streaming" games was unknown, the only way to follow the action live was by listening to the radio. He does have his quirks (does "fiddling, diddling" ring any bells), but over all the changes over the past 30 years, he's been a constant. Even when I'm watching a video feed of the game, I usually turn off the sound and listen to Charlie instead Best wishes to him in his post-Vandy WBB life!

"Zigging, zagging"... "consternation". But he had some really funny lines. His observations often had me laughing out loud.

Vandy's streaming player has worked well for me for FB, MBB, WBB and baseball, except for one WBB game, which was inexplicably missing from their calendar:

And when Baseball and Women’s Basketball are played at the same time — such as this afternoon — does WNSR carry the team that has won two national championships or the team that first played in a Final Four?

Both. That's the magic of streaming.Versus75 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 27, 2022 11:23 amAnd when Baseball and Women’s Basketball are played at the same time — such as this afternoon — does WNSR carry the team that has won two national championships or the team that first played in a Final Four?
