Re: Vandy-Tennessee thread
Well that lasted a minute.
I am going to tell you why that was pathetic. Terrible call: second and two and we need to eat clock. No block at all on the rusher - I mean, ole. A whiff. Third, a total stare down - on a long throw that is easy to pick.
Stupid play call. Terrible execution. And 7-0 Vols.

Had nothing to do with the play but defensive lineman, not the guy who put the pressure on Wright was lined up in the neutral zone....

Re: Vandy-Tennessee thread
One of my real pet peeves in Vandy football is pre-calling plays to start a game. I am willing to bet that was pre-ordained. If it is second and two - there is simply no reason to do it.
That drives me crazy. And sure - now we run up the middle again. First down is when you try to do something they aren't expecting. OC just not creative or even practical.
Our only hope in this game was long slow drives. Throw for 7, then run for the first down. Do it three or four times and eat clock. Watch we will be running on first down all day - and throwing incomplete to stop the clock the rest of the time. And playing into UT's hands.

Re: Vandy-Tennessee thread
Our d is not likely to have a good game against UT's explosive offense.
But I have seen improvement there. The DC gets a nod - he is making good use of what he has. (I say this before UT potentially hangs 50 on us.). Barr has really been a pleasant surprise. They are playing like a unit - since halftime versus UK they have been noticeably better.
