Report: VU selling naming rights to the stadium
This is according to Chris Lee at VandySports.com.
All I can say is, it's about damn time...if it results in more money being pumped into the facilities.

On a related topic, when will we get some renderings on the renovations plan for the football operations building? Don’t they start construction in about a month?

Sell the rights to Viagra, and put in blue turf. It's where losing SEC teams come to look potent again.

Re: Report: VU selling naming rights to the stadium
Jack Daniels Stadium: Iconic, global brand...but probably not at a college, even a private one.
HCA Healthcare Stadium: They've got the money but are a competitor with VUMC.
Nissan & Bridgestone, whose North American HQs are both in Nashville, are both taken.
Lots of smaller possibilities, but OTOH, it probably doesn't have to be based locally. Does Regions Bank already have its name on a stadium?

Can't scamper or slither...but I used to swim.

it's a tough time to ask some corporation to attach their name to the program...seems like they should have struck while the iron was extremely hot about 8 years ago

Re: Report: VU selling naming rights to the stadium
This is a good question and I'm surprised there's not more chatter about it. In theory, they could start ripping up the south end zone seating as soon as the final whistle is blown on November 13. That's a week and a half from now.3rdFloorDyer wrote: ↑Tue Nov 02, 2021 11:19 am On a related topic, when will we get some renderings on the renovations plan for the football operations building? I'm sorry, but what corporate idiot would be willing to sponsor a stadium nicknamed 'The Dud'?!!

This won’t happen. HCA is deeply aligned to Belmont University. Also, the current CEO is a UK grad![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif)

Re: Report: VU selling naming rights to the stadium
What if there are no takers for the naming rights? That would be embarrassing. Maybe we could have "Dudley Field at Ingram Stadium."
Re: Report: VU selling naming rights to the stadium
Perhaps Vanderbilt Health can give up the advertisements on the boards of the hockey rink and the Predators helmets and instead name the stadium.

Belmont doesn't have an SEC football stadium -- and the millions of TV eyeballs that attracts.
And mammoth global corporations are capable of supporting more than one institution. Even Mike Curb has Curb Centers at Belmont, Vanderbilt and Rhodes.
