Eventually someone was going to write this story... somehow the Washington Post got to it first.

You broke the story on here, Aug. 31! And other posters filled in other details.

Maybe The Post monitors Vandymania. Has the Tennessean reported it yet?
Can't scamper or slither...but I used to swim.

Sadly, the article is behind a paywall for me. I have to subscribe to see it.

For some reason, the second time I tried to read it, I could access the whole thing.

The Tennessean has gotten to it...

Tennessean: Vanderbilt's Tommy Smith, a 32-year-old Navy officer, might be the best story in college football (by Joshua Spears)

There is also a video interview with Smith, which plays after two ads...

The Tennessean has ANOTHER story about tight end Tommy Smith out today...

Tennessean: 5 things to know about 32-year-old Vanderbilt football player, active Navy officer Tommy Smith (by Danielle Medina)
https://www.tennessean.com/story/sports ... 350231002/

P.S. I said that Tommy Smith played in the Colorado State game... that is INCORRECT. The player I saw was Brayden Bapst, wearing No. 96... Bapst is an offensive lineman who has changed positions and changed numbers due to the position change. Smith, according to this article, has not played yet.
