Re: MLB Draft
Austin Martin went #5 in the 2020 draft but got a signing bonus ($7 million) second only to the no. 1 pick.
One draft "expert" (from The Sporting News) had 7 high school shortstops going in the first round, including 4 of the first 8 picks. Having experts like this guy might have something to do with TSN going belly-up as a print newspaper. The online version is not very good either these days. (As the logo has changed, I wonder if somebody just bought the name and web address.)

Re: MLB Draft
The MLB.com "Top Baseball Draft Prospects" list has already been shown to be off the mark, but it gives one an idea as to which of our high school commits might be drafted in the first 8-10 rounds. This list goes 250 deep:
https://www.mlb.com/prospects/draft/
003 Jordan Lawlar
024 Joshua Baez
071 Davis Diaz
109 Michael Morales
128 Carter Holton
146 Jonathan Vastine
224 Devin Futrell
Current Vanderbilt players
002 Jack Leiter
006 Kumar Rocker
097 Isaiah Thomas
176 Dominic Keegan
215 Nick Maldonado
219 Luke Murphy
235 CJ Rodriguez
Non VU note: I cannot imagine Kevin Kopps of Arkansas NOT being selected within the first 250 choices, but then I'm not an MLB general manager.
