I would pitch by committee on Tuesday. If we lose, we rest our staff. If we win, we have Holton against ut….our only chance! I believe we need to hit the portal….since free agency is allowed, we need pitchers and hitters! Until the NCAA increases schollies, we will continue to face AllStar teams every year during the SEC season!

I agree. Start Cunningham Tuesday. If we happen to win, give the Vols our best shot with Holton.Ndorefin wrote: ↑Sun May 22, 2022 8:09 am I would pitch by committee on Tuesday. Always hopeful; rarely optimistic.

Is there an online portal to watch like Verbal Commits has for basketball?

There is a scholarship limit right? We can't go out and get an unlimited # of transfers can we? I think many of the coaches at other schools this year had a lot of unused scholarships. New coaches tend to have thin rosters.

Pink, Tennessee is the best team ever built by a genius coach, just too bad they couldn't and never will beat our SEC total win record. Think on that and the reasons why.

Starting Holton against OM may be a concession that UT is not winnable. In that case we need to focus on going 1-1 in the tournament. Ending the season on a 4 loss slide could hurt our regional standing.

Re: Looks like Ole Miss first …
I could be mistaken, but if VU wins against OM today I believe the rest of the way is double elimination. So hopefully they can do better than 1-1 (i.e., at least 2-2 and not 1-2).Mrcommodore wrote: ↑Tue May 24, 2022 10:01 am Starting Holton against OM may be a concession that UT is not winnable. Re: Looks like Ole Miss first …
you are correct it is single elimination today only - it is double elimination the rest of the way, but we could end up 1-2: one at a time just win as many as possible.UltimateVUFan wrote: ↑Tue May 24, 2022 10:08 amI could be mistaken, but if VU wins against OM today I believe the rest of the way is double elimination. At the rate the first game is going (two rain delays, not yet even completed), we'll be playing at 10:00 PM tonight.

Semifinals on Saturday are also single elimination. That is, if a team through the winner's bracket loses, they are out.UltimateVUFan wrote: ↑Tue May 24, 2022 10:08 amI could be mistaken, but if VU wins against OM today I believe the rest of the way is double elimination. Re: Looks like Ole Miss first …
They've already announced UK @ Aub 11am tomorrow. My guess is without several hours of delay, ours is played- at least partially- tonight.

Really hope the game doesn’t get played partially with more potential delays. That just puts so much extra strain on the bullpen.

Re: Looks like Ole Miss first …
Or not schedule as many games per day.
The ACC Tournament has 12 teams guaranteed to play 2 games each. Four 3-team divisions play round robins (2 games within Tuesday-Friday). Then a single-elimination final 4 on Sat/Sun.
Nobody goes home after 1 game. No team plays more than 4 games. Pitching staffs are in better shape for NCAA Regionals.
And with a max 3 games scheduled per day, it’s easier to deal with weather delays.
ACCT=15 games
SECT=17 games
