Just looked at the MLB mock draft 6.0 as of two days ago and he does not appear in the top 35. That would be good for us for him to drop a little.

He is actually a 2022 commit, so he won’t be eligible until next year. And yeah, odds are he will get drafted early and go straight to the pros…

Re: Vandy commit wins National Player of the Year award
When I saw the headline, I thought it was going to be for Jordan Lawlar. Then I saw it was for 2022 and was from Georgia and thought it would be Andruw Jones. Then I clicked on the link and saw it was Dylan Lesko. Vanderbilt certainly has some incredible players committed, even though none are likely to make it to campus. Well, we can hope....

This sounds ugly but somebody should send footage of our middle infield play in Omaha and remind Jordan Lawler that VU reviews starters each offseason. He might get to play right away.

Corbs said Young was 50 -60%. Kolwyck was out. This sounds ugly but maybe you should pay better attention. I would trade them for nobody.

Young was cleary not the same player after the shoulder injury. He's a superb shortstop, but defensively he didn't even look like the same guy. Honestly, when he grabbed his shoulder in such obvious pain after that slide at 2nd, I immediately assumed his season was over. I suspect that next season he'll be back with a vengeance.baseball1234 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 08, 2021 6:33 pmCorbs said Young was 50 -60%. Kolwyck was out. If Lawlar is going to be a Top-5 pick as predicted, and will receive a bonus of $5Million+, you just don't turn it down. There is very little upside for him, because you can't really improve your draft spot, and top position players can move through the minor league system pretty quickly.

That wouldn't be a good deal for us.baseball1234 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 08, 2021 6:33 pm

The Red Sox traded Babe Ruth to the Yankees "for nobody" but the Yankees also threw in $100,000 in 1919 cash.
