Leiter gets out of the jam with a grounder to short. 7-2 through 6 for Leiter.

Over 100 pitches. He pitched well. Really well.

Now we need a run. A hit would be nice too.

Maldy isn't great going 3. Have someone else pitch the 7th and Maldy 8-9?

I wish we would bunt Vaz and/or Bradfield once a game. I just don't understand why both those guys are trying to elevate the ball. They are fast. They are not going to hit a homer in this cavernous park. Let your legs do the damage. We need a hit.

We have no hits since the first inning. It is giving MSU hope.

I can't believe the announcer just said Leiter got a helpful strike zone. The outside corner has been extended a foot for several MSU pitchers.

These announcers are so biased it’s sickening.

These announcers are not bad, really. (Better than the other set who openly rooted against us.) I recognize They are trying to keep viewers interested in a game where we have a lead.

Just the same, the response to our very good fielding tonight - to mention we have 7 errors in Omaha, To Leiter being good - "helpful" strike zone. Come on.

But Maldonado gets a 1-2-3 inning in the seventh. So that was the first non-stressful inning in a while....

Yes they are. And they need some new material. I've watched every game of the CWS (except the TX-VA overnighter), and the broadcasters have literally retold the same anecdotes over and over.

And they have been the whole CWS. For example, while never outright disrespectful to VU, they LOVED NC State...

Gonzo gets a lead-off walk. Most of those were not close - but Gonzo does have a good eye.

Bradfield bunts him to second. Runner in scoring position. Thanks for the sac Bradfield. We needed it.

And that is how you build a run.

That is baseball. Gonzo walks. Bradfield sacs. Young gets a single that he does not try to pull. 8-2.
