I see a trend of ...

... giving bonuses more along the lines of pre-draft rating than of actual slot. Previously, I predicted most players would get slot money because the teams wouldn't want to chance losing one of only 4-6 draft choices.

per MLB Draft Tracker: https://www.mlb.com/draft/tracker

PICK
NO. ... RANK .. NAME ................. SLOT VAL. .... BONUS
001 .... 001 .. Spencer Torkelson ..... $8.42m ..... $8.42m
002 .... 010 .. Heston Kjerstad ....... $7.79m ..... $5.20m
003 .... 009 .. Max Meyer ............. $7.22m ..... $6.70m
004 .... 003 .. Asa Lacy .............. $6.66m ..... $6.67m
005 .... 002 .. Austin Martin ......... $6.18m ..... $7.00m

Other signing news:

The first 35 players drafted have signed with their respective MLB clubs.
Tanner Burns of Auburn (#36) is the highest-drafted unsigned player.
Daxton Fulton, a high school pitcher from Oklahoma who may have been a verbal commit to Vanderbilt is next. Fulton is currently listed as an Oklahoma commit.
Jake Eder has not yet signed, according to the Draft Tracker, but 5 of the Marlins' 6 draft choices -- including Fulton -- are unsigned. I expect that to change.
