Who are we watching today?
Hickman and Fisher are the obvious two, and draft eligible soph Ethan Smith could get picked.
I'm not as tuned in on the HS kids after Hassell and Crow-Armstrong. PG had us at #1 before the draft, so there is obviously some depth.

Re: Who are we watching today?
I believe Smith has gone unnoticed in some of the mock drafts...I guess because he’s a Soph. It’s quite possible Hickman may not get drafted... he would be a higher pick next year. It looks like Bulger may be the next pick and then maybe O’Dowd (Lipscomb Academy) and Miles Garrett. If we get any of these players on campus, it will be an exceptional class and if Brown comes back, we should be loaded

I forgot about Bradfield....in my mind, he is gone. You are also correct about Eder....he will sign.

Watching for FLA, ARK, SC etc ...
... to lose some high school commits.
My son-in-law is an Arkansas grad, so I follow the Razorbacks somewhat. Six of their 2020 commits are in the MLB Top 200 draft prospects. Five of those within the top 150.
Florida has likely lost its top recruit (Zac Veen) to the bigs. Let's see what happens to the perfectgame.org recruiting rankings after MLB signings.
... one of the guys on MLB.com just mentioned Enrique Bradfield as a player to watch. Rats!

Re: Who are we watching today?
We are at pick #120 (4th round) and Fisher, Smith, Hickman and Bradfield have not been drafted. Brown was the last pick in the 3rd round and is probably gone (would be higher if he comes back ) Eder followed soon thereafter in the 4th.

Re: Who are we watching today?
Was selfishly hoping Hickman would slip through, but good for him that he was drafted instead of having to negotiate as a senior. Fisher and Smith are both 1/2 rd talents and give us a silly rotation/staff next year. Looking around the league, we'll need it. Looks like Florida got their top of the rotation guys through.

Re: Who are we watching today?
If Hickman came back, he'd get his junior year over and would be negotiating next year as a junior in eligibility again. So he doesn't lose the leverage that would normally be the case.Commodoredave wrote: ↑Fri Jun 12, 2020 8:22 am Was selfishly hoping Hickman would slip through, but good for him that he was drafted instead of having to negotiate as a senior. Re: Who are we watching today?
Possibly, but how do you improve on a 19-2 record? With our luck, there could be a COVID20 to wipe out next season.
I don't think we would have gone to Omaha again this year, necessarily, but we'll never know. Trying not to be bitter...

Re: What does this mean?
Maybe Tennessee and LSU offered him $750k to go there in the top of the third of a game his senior year and he turned them down to go to Vandy?

Re: What does this mean?
It means Smith intends to come back to school and pitch his way into a multimillion dollar bonus next year. Good on you Eth!
Re: Who are we watching today?
getting a year back in eligibility dows nothing to help draft position , some times you hear going as a jr is due to having leverage of coming back a sr year. there is no leverage in telling pro teams that you can go back for a sr. year and take 100k after your sr. year. pro teams draft college players on present ability , cost and age not class
