Sunday Loss at A&M

Post by charlestonalum »

We have an experienced team, but have played today like an inexperienced group. Game not over but down at the top of the 9th 7-0. Five (5) of their seven runs are unearned. Yes, we have 4 errors and an assortment of throwing mistakes to give away a lot of runs.
Rocker pitched OK, but was hit pretty hard. He will get better.
Our clutch hitting was again absent like yesterday. Scott gets 3 hits, but the one strikeout comes with 2 men in scoring position. Just one of those days...
Team looks like the shocking loss yesterday just took all confidence away.
Lots of work to do - we have the talent but... does this sound familiar?

Yet, we have all these seniors. We have a lot of talent but they are not playing like they have any. Really disappointed in the baseball savvy they showed!!!

Stat I hope to never see again
4 errors and only 4 hits - wow that is bad and we also had some bad fielding throws

Remember, nothing to worry about...

“and we are 2 or 1 in the country - smell the roses”

These last two games smelled more like turds than roses.

I believe it was a VU coach in another sport who joked about inseminating a turkey. Yesterday we inseminated (maybe the proper verb is infused, but inseminated is much more colorful) the A&M turkeys with momentum. And today that momentum was expelled back in our splattered faces.

Well, very disappointing but at least we didn't get swept. Getting swept is a back breaker in the SEC. We can a hit or strikeout from winning this series, actually. They will definitely and deservedly drop in the rankings and ratings but we have a long way to go in this season.

Very disappointing to not win this series. It sure does not get any easier in the sec as we have the reptiles coming into town for a Thurs-Sat series. Corbs needs to right the ship.
