Down the stretch of the Louisville-Iowa game the announcers couldn’t stop talking about Caitlyn Clark’s possible Triple Double.
There was even a banner at the bottom of the screen:

Then, with Clark at 9 rebounds (all defensive boards) and about 1 minute left in the game, Louisville missed a shot and Clark got a hand on the ball deflecting it to a teammate.
The play-by-play guy said, “Nearly the tenth rebound for Clark; couldn’t grab it.”
Later (sounding incredulous but not calling out the scorekeeper for being an idiot):
“They GAVE Caitlyn Clark that tenth rebound a moment ago ….”
Too bad for CC that a teammate caught the loose ball because otherwise it would have been a Rebound AND Turnover for Clark on the same play.
She would have finished the game with ten Turnovers as well: A Quadruple Double!
This fascination with Triple Doubles …
