Mississippi State QB Will Rogers was 35-of-55 for 300 yards against Alabama, with 3 interceptions. That's an average of 5.5 yards per passing play, so there were obviously a lot of short passes being thrown. But Alabama held MSU to -1 yards rushing on 19 attempts; that number includes SEVEN sacks. Rogers reportedly took a beating.
Mississippi State had more first downs than Alabama (24) and won time of possession. But Alabama struck with several big touchdown plays, much as Florida did to us a week ago, and a pick-6.
Should be an interesting defensive game plan for Leach & Co. this week.
MSU's Will Rogers threw it 55 times against Alabama, but team lost 49-9
