Can someone explain to me the reason CCL is making the players earn their jersrey numbers. I dont get it. This tactic is catching a lot of negative flack on social media.

His vision demands that everything is earned by the players, including their number. Nothing is given. He's trying to establish a culture. There will be resistance anytime there is change. Some of things he does will work. Some won't. It's the nature of building.

Several well-known and respected college basketball coaches had the players names taken off the backs of their jersey to make the point they should be playing for the name on the FRONT of the shirt.

The late Larry Hunter did this one season at Ohio. He finished his college coaching career with over 700 wins.

Not sure why anyone is worked up about this. Coach Lea is trying to build a new culture like Franklin did. One that expects the best, expects to win, and will do what is necessary to do it. A culture in which every player must earn his way and not expect to win it simply because he was there last year. You go, Coach. I am with you on this all the way.
