3 - 2 - 1 -

Post by Seadog73 » Fri Jan 01, 2021 3:53 pm

Before anyone starts complaining the administration blew it hiring CCL, remember that Bama has 3 of the top 5 Heisman vote recipients, ON OFFENSE, and has averaged over 50 for a good part of the year.

Personally, I think CCL is THE MAN who will take us to heights we have not seen in living history, thanks to Chancellor DD and AD CSL.

I don't know if he will exceed the poach franklin level of back to back 9-win seasons and three straight bowls but he will do great regardless of how much Bama scores today. The top three teams in America this season are clear better than the rest. Everybody understands that, even the Bryce Drew/Will Healy spouses even if they don't admit it.

No one’s going to complain about that. Alabama’s offense can’t be stopped by anyone. Even the Tennessee Titans’ defense couldn’t stop Alabama. On one play a Notre Dame defender was in perfect position to stop the Bama running back for a short gain, the Bama player completely leaped over the defender and ran down the sidelines for about 50 yards! Another play the receiver made a one-handed catch with a Notre Dame defender hanging off him (probably pass interference but it wasn’t called). No other team in the world has players who can do things like that on offense. It’s like watching Madden Football.

ND fans are definitely complaining about it, but it’s what I expected. The rest of your post is spot on though. The defensive scheme isn’t the issue right now, it’s Alabama’s insane offense.

If you told me ND would only put up 7 in the first half then I would guess Bama has more than 21. Only way to stop this Bama offense is to keep them off the field.

31 points in 4th. Not bad in my book. If the offense could score then ND might be in the game. Alabama is a scoring powerhouse.I think Lea and his defense has done pretty well considering.

CCL made good adjustments at halftime. Only allowing 10 points in the second half against Alabama is very impressive! I'm ready for him to get to work on West End.

That’s the fewest amount of points Alabama has scored all season.

I would certainly say it was closer than most would think. Credit to CCL and the defense for adjusting in the second half to keep it that way, and while I’m sure some Irish fans will complain that he was distracted with Vandy stuff, you certainly can’t complain with the result, especially given how talented Bama is at literally every position.

Welcome home Coach Lea. We are all going to be rooting for you in this most difficult job, but first time in decades that the administration is all in. Let's go!

I’m an Alabama season ticket holder, and I can tell you that was as good a defensive plan as Alabama has seen all year. The difference was the Jimmy’s and the Joe’s.

CCL is a fantastic hire, by far the best hire in the SEC this year. Anyone who can’t see that doesn’t know football.

Respectable performance by an outmanned unit. Nothing for CCL to hang his head about. On to Nashville!
