Just High School. It shows 5 signees: 3 Fours, 2 Threes. That is what we signed.
I was curious about that ranking and looked at Rivals entire list. Is the reason our class is so highly ranked because we signed five players? UK is two slots behind us but has two five stars signed. Nonetheless, VU has the lowest player average (3.66) of all of the top 20 classes. We are ahead of UT, which is unbelievable but true.
Before we signed this last guy, we were at 21 with 2&2 4s and 3s. I guess the numbers signed raised us some.

This is not anything new - the year we had John Jenkins our class wasn't ranked that highly because he was the only player in the class. The following year our class was much higher with Hendo, Siakam, Odom and Fuller. This is a very good, but not historic class - ranked on par with about 4 or 5 other classes over the last 20 seasons. The good news is that with the exception of the 2018 class that CBD brought in the previous classes resulted in NCAA tournament appearances. We also typically didn't have as much returning when adding these classes previously.

And while on the subject of doing more with less, the previous "coach" took over a program from the outgoing guy who had won over 60% of his games at VU and proceed to win 40%. The current coach took over from the 40% guy and is now up to 42% and climbing....but wait, there's more... the current guy just won 19 games in his pivotal third year including 7 in the SEC despite taking over from a guy who turned out to be a real dud while the guy who took over a 60% winning program won 9 (not 19) and ZERO in the league (not 7) in year three.

But there is no law against certain people clinging to the former guy. However those people need to cheer him on at GCU every chance they get because if Colangelo fired local Phoenix hero "Thunder" Dan Majerle, don't think for a second Jerry won't kick his current guy to the curb. He will and with a smile while he does.

That should have been a top ranked class. I mean, who else do you know that signed an 8 year player?

Here is some bad news for the Stack-hating/drew-lovers who think Stackhouse isn't working on the class of 2023: He is in Texas recently recruiting the #37 player in the nation, Wesley Yates, who he also went to see play AAU ball within the last 2 weeks. But wait...there's more... Now, Stackhouse is in Houston today to visit Jace Posey, who is the son of former NBA player James Posey.

Yates can knock it down. Not sure we've ever had a guard as quick as Posey.

Ezra Manjon.

Tommy Springer. Former all-SEC. Drafted by the Denver Nuggets.

... Posey reminds me a bit of former SEC freshman of the year (Georgia) - Anthony Edwards

Not sure how Yates is "only" rated four stars. The dude is fantabulous.

It's easy to visit and offer highly ranked players. Every coach in the SEC does that. It's entirely another to sign them. The proof is in the signatures.

Like the previous guy who signed impressive players and then lost 20 games in a row?

I'll stick with what Stack is doing any day compared to your previous guy. He sucked. Bigtime.
