walker kessler

Post by Hutch37 »

just heard he is in the transfer portal-- can we start the campaign now?

he would completely transform our team.
even if he is a 1 year player he would greatly raise our profile and we could at least be back in the conversation

He was heavily recruited by Bryce Drew's staff. It will be interesting to see where he ends up. Rumor has it he was homesick. (He's from Atlanta.)

Yeah - if Pippen and Disu return and we added a player like Kessler we would be a tournament contender for sure IMO. I wonder why he didn't play very much this year - his numbers on a per possession basis are fantastic all-around.

he had some covid quarantine issues early that set him back on conditioning and pecking order. he had a senior predicted to be acc player of the year ahead of him; a freshman - sharpe who is projected late lottery this year and a sophomore big who was the team's leading scorer this year. His minutes were stuck very low early- moved to about 10 a game and then had a bump at the end of the year with a few dominating performances . he would thrive in CJS system, especially without another big clogging the lane . he is a great rim protector

With the most apparent needs for this year are the return of Pippen/Disu and a transfer big, I say put the full court press on.

Immediate reaction from most articles I read seems to be Gonzaga, but that also seems to be pure speculation. I didn't see anything actually pointing that way.

Yeah, homesick, so he is thinking of signing 3,000 miles further away? If he signs with Gonzaga that rumor is bovine feces.

Well, Roger Powell is on staff at Gonzaga, and he heavily recruited Kessler when he was on CBD's staff here...

when does the tournament quiet period for signings end? Does this also include transfers. Stating the obvious, adding additional talent is job one for this staff...hopefully they're turning a corner in that regard...we'll see...

89 mile drive from where he is from in Georgia.

2282 miles closer than Gonzaga. ;)
