Re: Wright?

in his post-game comments, Stackhouse said that Wright was in a "funk" and they were working to help him out of where he is. Let's hope this happens soon. Go Vandy!

Re: Not the end of the world, but...

Vandy will probably have additional spots open for next year. Players currently not getting many minutes will be looking for other options, plus there are four new players coming in that are good and will potentially take more of the available court time. The coaches should be able to go out and rec...

Re: Vandy-USC thread

We also just got back from the game. Our seats are behind the Vandy bench. On the last drive, Pippen had elevated and had two USC players on his hip, and I think he had room to get the shot off. As noted above, he may have been looking to lob to someone. Regardless, he chose not to shoot, and when h...

Re: Game Thread Ark

Wonderful win. Especially considering that Mann and Dezonie were absent. Great to see Chapman out there in crunch time. Pippen was hounded all game but maintained his composure for the most part (fouling out near the end was bad). But they won without Pippen and Wright in the last minute! Fabulous w...

Re: Any word on Chatman?

Chatman may have scored only one basket, but he looked good. It was intended that he only play about 15 minutes, which he did. Nothing forced. He played the point and his passes were crisp and the other player movement was improved. His "handle" when he has the ball is really good. His def...

Re: I love seeing Dan Mullen get what he deserves.

Totally agree. Mullen and Granthem were responsible, IMO, for the physical punishment vented against KeShawn Vaughn in the 2018 VU-FLA game in Nashville. Vandy had run out to a 21-0 lead, mostly due to Vaughn's touchdowns. Florida was shocked and near the end of the half, they crushed Vaughn with bi...

Re: Bryan Reynolds - All Star

Brian Reynolds is one of my favorite all-time VU baseball players. Very consistent, clutch hitter who is currently batting in the three spot for Pittsburgh. Ironic that one of his teammates is Jacob Stallings - son of Kevin - who is a backup catcher and sometimes bats cleanup behind Reynolds. Irony ...

Re: State fans threw beer on me and my son

There are classless fans following all programs. I feel bad for the VU fans who are enduring jibes and worse in Omaha from the Bulldog yokels. I hope the Vandy baseball team shuts them up soon. My wife and I had beer poured on us at a VU home football game vs Tennessee many years ago. Heath Shuler l...

Re: We Have to start hitting

Vandy needs to alter its hitting approach, IMO. Trying for home runs, trying to pull the ball too much, not being able to handle curve balls - these contribute to outs and kill rallies. Too many men left on base. The boys should use the whole field. When the other team employs a shift, spray the bal...

Big fame for Saben Lee

In tonight's 119-100 Detroit loss to Minnesota, Saben Lee was the high scorer for Detroit. Did not start. Totals: 22 points; 7/9 field goals; 8/8 free throws; 5 assists; 28 minutes. Saben is making the most of his opportunity. Easy to pull for a young man like that. Go Vandy!

Re: Nice weekend for Snedeker.

Brandt had his best tournament of the 2020-2021 year so far. 72-67-72-68. Tied for 6th. For the most part and especially on Sunday, he drove the ball well - many of his tee shots were straight and around 290-300 yards. Because of the good tee shots, he had lots of short irons into the greens. On Fri...

Re: LSU #2

The ball that VU centerfielder EBjr dropped was probably knuckling. Went off the heel of the glove. It happens. He will learn from it. No doubt the coaches will work on it with him. He should continue to be a tremendous player for at least three seasons. And a demon for opposing teams. Go Vandy!

Brandt - PGA

In round two at the PGA today (San Francisco), Brandt Snedeker had a good day. 34-32= 66 or four under par. Seven birdies, three bogeys. On the back nine, Brandt had 10 putts. The course they are playing is tough and even par will likely be the cut line. Brandt is at -2, and hopefully will climb up ...

Re: Farmers Open

A very good tournament for Brandt. He always putts the poa annua greens at La Jolla well and he did this time. He also did a great job of hitting the fairways with his driver, which is key for him. If he is putting for birdies on 12-14 of the holes, then he will make some. Should bode well going for...

Re: Lost amidst the Yaz hoopla last night, Sonny Gray set an impressive MLB record

Because Sonny was pitching, that was the first MLB game I watched this season. He had his curve working well and also had a 93-94 mph fastball. Very good placement. He really has had a terrific year for the Reds. The announcers were complimentary of the Vanderbilt baseball program at several points ...

Re: Tour Championship

Brandt's take from the East Lake finals was $450,500 - for a tie for 24th place. He also got paid well for his finish in the two previous PGA playoff events. Not a really great year but still had a lot of positives. Over $3 million in official earnings. By getting to the final 30 in this past week's...

Re: Tour Championship

Brandt shot a 3 under 67 on Saturday. Finished just before the weather delay. Front nine: one birdie, one bogey. Back nine: three birdies. Tee to green, Brandt hit the ball well. He could have/should have had 2-3 more birdies on the front nine. Credit to him - he kept his cool and began putting much...

Re: BMW Championship

Brandt had a terrific day on Thursday. Hit all fairways on the par 4s/5s - first time this year. Putted wonderfully, which he has done a lot recently. He is putting himself in a great position to not only go to East Lake for the FedEx championship next week, but to go there with a chance to make som...
