Re: Random ruminations the morning after
I am still rooting for him because I believe that he wants to win. Just not sure that he has the make-up to get us right. All coaches want to win. We want all our coaches to win. I'm sure Derek Mason wanted to win but he wasn't the right guy for our HC job. CJS has had a losing record in two of his...

Re: How Much Longer
Because of the contract extension, I'd say we have 1-2 more seasons of this $hit to endure. I hope Diermeier gives the order to move on in a few weeks, but this fanbase is just not that lucky.

Re: Tennessean sports writers
Why complain about Gentry Estes? He was only doing his job, which was to get you to read his column and talk about it. Estes is not wrong, either. Vanderbilt is committing fan abuse by continuing to tolerate losing basketball and football programs. There are two rival schools that any Vanderbilt bas...

Re: Honest question
Stack has admitted that he is learning the college game. He was a pro always coached pros in the G-league. Those guys are under contract. His student athletes can leave at the drop of the hat for the next team. Does Stack realize this? Just like does he realize that when you lose a game you are les...

Re: Stack's Presser Yesterday
Stack can forget about the NCAAs unless we win the SEC Tournament. We have too many bad losses to lowly ranked programs to sneak in.

Re: The talent is there
I will confess that I pretty much understand Coach Stallings usage of time outs, and I mostly agreed with his view of when to call timeout. I understand what you are saying about Roy/UNC refusal to call time outs, but didn't Coach Stackhouse play for Dean Smith? How does Roy influence Coach Stackho...

Let me guess...you want Belmont's coach...he looks like Ollie from the Hoosiers movie. Wait...they lost to Terlingstone State this season. (And were recently blown out by Southern Illinois) Or maybe Lipscomb's coach. Wait...they lost to Bama A&M, TSU, Stetson, etc. Our we could keep our current...

The difference is TCU hired an experienced coach with a clue about offense. We didn't.

At the risk of beating a moribund horse: Vanderbilt does not have access to transfer portal other schools do. How many "students" at Cleveland State can get admitted to VU, I ask. The portal and free flow of talent except to places like Vanderbilt has made coaching at VU immeasurably more...

Re: Reasons to keep hope alive going into SEC play
The factors that have been our liabilities are curable: Turnovers, free throw shooting, missing bunnies, poor choice on who shoots 3-point shots (please Liam, just don't, you're at 19% from 3 and freakin 53% from 2point land, play some moneyball)...I want to believe. I agree, but I don't know how y...

Re: UK picks up a commit from former NC State QB Devin Leary
I heard Mike Farrell say today on ESPNU Radio that Devin Leary reportedly is receiving a $4 million NIL package for committing to UK. That explains why a decent QB prospect would want to go to UK and play in a Mark Stoop offense. Stoop almost singlehandedly knocked Levis into the second round of th...

Re: Overall, OOC was essentially a disaster
So far, this OOC stretch has demonstrated that my worst fears are true. Pippin was the backbone, the exoskeleton, the brains of and the will behind our offense. His absence has gutted us. Without him, we are a terrible college team trying to play like a bad NBA one. Stack either needs to get smart o...

Re: CJS on Jim Rome podcast today
I am glad he realizes scheduling the Grambling game before exam was a mistake. He is still learning. When he quits learning we are in big trouble. People forget that with all of his immense coaching experience, Vanderbilt is his first college coaching responsibility. He is still learning what it ta...
