Re: Vanderbilt-Louisville CWS 2 Thread 6:15 CT Start Time

They aren't even talking about or showing the game.

I've never seen a sporting event like this. They have shown the morons in the yellow costumes about 8 times.

All I know is that, come August 31, I want the Georgia fans out of my seats at Dudley Field.

I would love to see Auburn beat Louisville, then we beat Miss State, then Auburn beats MSU to get them back for the disastrous ending 2 nights ago.

Wow. That was bad. The game was won and the shortstop made a horrible throw, missed the first baseman, cost Auburn the game.

Was anyone on radio talking VU baseball today?

I don't usually tune into such things, but I flipped on 104.5 several times and they were talking non-stop about the TITANS. It is June, Vanderbilt just made the College World Series, a freshman pitcher may have pitched the greatest game in college baseball history... and they were talking about the...

Re: I hope that tomorrow

This team, laden with this much talent and this much experience and inspired by what happened tonight, has no business losing tomorrow. No excuses if it happens.

Having said that, here is the forecast:

80% chance of rain at 2 pm.
85% at 3 pm
80% at 4 pm
50% at 5 pm

This one may take a while.

Re: The Tennessean: "How Nashville pressed Hoover to keep SEC Baseball Tournament"

IMO... the SEC baseball tournament ought to stay in Hoover. I was watching the game yesterday and the sight of all those kids playing across the chain link fence next to left field, waiting for fly balls, was a pretty cool sight. The event is a better fit for Hoover than it is for Nashville and its ...

Re: I hate the whistler(s)

The clincher for me is that, if you don't know who he is, you can't really tell which team he is rooting for. It's not like yelling "War Eagle," or that strange University of Cincinnati whoop, or the Gator chomp, which people associate with certain fan bases. It's just weird and annoying.....

I'm here. Lovely night. Good crowd.

Make sure you eat before you come.

Longest concession line I've ever seen at at a baseball came at any level.

Can't they just put the local high school AD in charge of concessions?

Re: Nine pitchers in a midweek game?

My wife and I tried to watch it, and it was one of the most boring sporting events I have ever seen. I know that some of you may disagree, but between the endless pitching changes and the announcers who were talking about God knows what, it was like dialing into sports talk radio at 1 in the afterno...

Vanderbilt is about to win its 9th game in a row since Coach Corbin went off.

Sometimes a coach really needs to do that.

We had a basketball coach who lost 19 in a row who never did go off.

Re: Montgomery Advertiser

Love my Auburn friends... always have and always will. I have a friend who lives and dies Auburn sports and who, a few years ago, would never stop talking about Auburn football when they were a national championship contender. At that time their basketball team was in the toilet. I had an extra tick...

Coaching

Many of you know a lot more about baseball than I do.

But I do wonder if today's 2-0 win, completing a sweep of Alabama, has anything to do with the way Tim Corbin reacted to last Sunday's loss against Arkansas.

Honestly... it's so obvious that the guy knows how to coach.

Re: Which Bowl do you want for Vanderbilt?

let's face it. The SEC would send us to the Akron Rubber Bowl if they could. Bingo. We learned when Franklin was here that Vanderbilt could go 8-4 and still wouldn't ever get a serious consideration for bowls such as the Gator Bowl. The SEC doesn't WANT Vanderbilt and its small fan base to go to a ...

Re: Which Bowl do you want for Vanderbilt?

I didn't really care between Birmingham and Memphis until I saw that the Birmingham Bowl is December 22. That really stinks, especially for the Vanderbilt student athlete. I'm serious. I know that 99% of the college football fan base doesn't give a crap about academics, but they shouldn't have to ge...

Re: My plate of crow!

All of you know more about baseball than I do, but I will make my theory: Our team had lost several games in a row when the UT Vols came up on the schedule. At that point it looked very possible that the Vols, and not Vanderbilt, might make the SEC tournament. The moment that the Vols and their oran...
