Re: Parker Noland enters the transfer portal as a grad transfer

He may be doing this to increase his leverage in the draft. He was a highly rated prospect coming out of high school and has been a solid player for us, but didn’t excel like we wanted.

Re: Your 2023 Gold Glove Winner...

It’s a shame he didn’t make 1st team all-SEC, but he was against the best hitter in college baseball, Crews, from LSU. It would have been nice to put Crews as the DH, but he is a great player, as we will see in the MLB draft.

Re: Jaloni Cambridge To Set Top 7

We’ll survive just fine!! As much as we love Jordan, I don’t believe we are loved by the Cambridge family and that’s OK!

Re: Next year's roster

Will our hitting coach return? I wish Baxter no ill will, since he’s a VandyBoy and Corbs wouldn’t release him anyway, but I hope he gets a good offer to go somewhere else. We really need a wholesale cleaning of the staff, including the trainer and our strength/conditioning coach, if we can’t keep o...

Re: OT somewhat: Wake Forest Pitching

What great insight to their success!! They are one school that I never considered to ever have a top notch program and always thought Duke would eventually rival our success.I find it interesting that their 3 transfers came from private universities, much like our Duke transfer…..it’s a wonder he di...

Re: Nobody mentioned Bob Polk ...

... the former Georgia Tech assistant coach who brought the team from the era of second-rate sport (only played 15 games in 1947-48 season). Of Polk's 13 seasons, 7 teams would likely have made the NCAAT under the current format. Roy Skinner teams would have likely been selected 8 or 9 times in his...

Re: thanks to the team and the coaches

I’ve seen it mentioned several times that we have offered several high school underclassmen. Can anyone offer a few examples or is this just hearsay? That’s quite a claim to make if you cant back it up….it wouldn’t make sense to tie up some of your 11.7 scholarship money in this manner.

Re: Vandy-Xavier Thread

Anyone know the status? They said 30 minutes about 45 minutes ago. Radar doesn't look bad. Storms one county over. Agree! There is no storm, but it appears they have had a lightening strike within the limits allowed. I live about 15 miles from the stadium and have had no rain and it didn’t appear t...

Grinnell Jones! I’ve never seen him coach, but if you go by results on the court, he was undefeated!!!

Re: Vandy-Xavier Thread

We’ll have Schreck, Noland and Maldo when we return. Needed that delay….lefties are hitting .120 against this reliever for the year. Let’s hope it’s long enough to make him sit, although teams outside the Power 5 don’t seem to protect their pitchers.

Re: Stackhouse

Based on results on the courts, there is no question Skinner is #1. Using that criteria, I would have to say Bob Polk (who preceded Skinner), was #2.

Who’s on the bump this evening? I thought by now we would know. My guess is Owen to start and Reilly finishing if Owen can go 4 or more.

Re: Stackhouse

I would have to put Fogler at the top…he was a great tactician and was successful with less talent. Skinner coached in a different league than the coaches of today. Skinner was not a great motivator or game coach. His best teams were led by outstanding floor generals, who basically ran the team such...

Re: INTERESTING. KICKER JOINS US LATE

Sometimes they have different skills. This guy seems to be automatic on extra points and perhaps short field goals. We may go to another for long field goals and the third could be better at kickoffs. Give me a guy who's virtually automatic inside of 40 yards all day over a guy who has a cannon for...

Re: He’s Back!

Personally, I hope he goes somewhere else after all this. He's not THAT good. You must not watch any basketball. How can anyone say that. Tyrin is extremely proficient at getting to the rim and finishing. Has his own rhythm in that manner like Pippen did. It was kind of unique. Outside of that he i...

Re: Tyrin is OFFICIALLY back

I believe he and Stack put this whole plan together to help Tyrin decide his future. He found out what his strengths and weaknesses are according to decision makers and he also found out his worth for NIl. I’m sure Stack supported him all the way through this process because he cares about his playe...
