Re: Per the Draft Tracker

There’s got to be a way to handle this whole commit/draft/sign process that treats the colleges more fairly. That's not really MLB's problem, and I think the 3 year wait if they don't sign out of high school is a huge gift to the colleges. The way it is set up now, if your recruits are drafted in t...

Re: MLB draft

George Lombard first round #26 to the yankees. That's 2 recruits, plus Bradfield so far One of the commentators said White will be a tough sign since he had committed to Vanderbilt. I'll cross my fingers, but he is probably not turning down $2.42 million. You never know. Adjusting for inflation, Ty...

Re: Chase Burns in the portal

Not sure why he would go to TCU. If Vanderbilt was to pick up only one more transfer, I would prefer Cannon Peebles, the freshman catcher from NC State. I think we could use more help on the offensive side, especially at the catcher and the outfield positions.

Re: Chase Burns in the portal

I am just glad he is leaving UT because he is a good pitcher and that loss hurts their team. I don't know what was going on behind the scenes, but on the surface, this appears to be a rather surprising move. I heard Vitello say that they have known about this for a while (not sure how long that is),...

Re: NAME THE MID-MAJOR....

I don't see any need in kicking a man while he is down. It didn't work out for him at Vanderbilt, but I wish him nothing but the best unless he is playing Vanderbilt. He probably won't be invited back to LSU next year, but I wouldn't be completely shocked if someone took a flyer on him late in the d...

So who is everyone pulling for.....

We are left with Florida, TCU, Wake Forest and LSU. Who is everyone pulling for? I am trying to think what might be better for the Vanderbilt program in the long run, and I am not sure what that would be. Perhaps Wake Forest because this seems more like a one-time fluke for them and they would not b...

I am always glad to see UT lose, but I don't feel like gloating too much about it when we got eliminated in the Regionals.

Re: Blown opp

Losing 3 pitchers was our problem: it is that simple. Very unfortunate luck. The injury bug really bites. I don't think Owen was his usual self, and in hindsight, pitching Ginther after he was held out of the SEC tourney was probably a mistake. Based upon what I saw in the Super Regional, Oregon wo...

Re: Next year's roster

I think there are over 2,000 players in the portal. Have we heard anything about any Vandy players transferring out? That could have a big impact on the roster next year as well. I saw several former Vandy players playing for other teams in the tournament this year.

Re: SECT

Is it possible Vitello threw the game to rest for the NCAA's? Wouldn't really surprise me. Not a lot of integrity in that dugout. Not a lot of integrity, but the way you throw away a game is with pitching. You don't tell you hitters not to hit, which is what happened to them today (1 hit). Hopefull...

Re: Dores 2023 MVP

Schreck without hesitaation. He was, as stated, consistent all year at both the plate and in the field. Schreck has been in a prolonged slump. On May 2, he was hitting .364. He is now hitting .324, going 5 for 34 (.147) in the month of May. We really need him to break out of that slump during the p...

Re: BS ALL SEC team

EBJ is a terrific player, and a unique player, but the SEC has some ungodly good outfielders and competition is fierce. If you bump EBJ to first team, who do you drop down: Crews, Petry, or Langford? We will see how it goes in the draft. Right now, it looks like Crews and Langford will be Top 5 pic...

Re: Wow! Alabama fires Brad Bohannon

It sounds like this may be related to the suspicious betting activity on Alabama's games with LSU last week. It could be a major coincidence, but that seems doubtful. They must have something on him to take that kind of swift action. https://www.al.com/alabama/2023/05/alabama-firing-baseball-coach-b...

To save others time, his offer list includes: Arizona State TCU Texas Houston LSU Okie St. Ole Miss Texas A&M SMU I too, love this offer list. I value the list of offers over the star system. MM, from where you got this list (not sure your source) do you believe it is credible? Didn't we once g...

Re: Vanderbilt Education

I went to Vanderbilt in the 1980s and am convinced that both me and about 4/5 of the friends I had then would not have gotten into the university today. Also, my son had a higher ACT score (33) than I did and a much higher GPA than I did, but there was no way he was going to get in, because he wasn...

Re: Vanderbilt-Michigan NIT Thread

Obviously Stackhouse knows what he is doing, but I really didn't understand having Thomas in over Smith so much down the stretch. Michigan was in the zone, and Smith had been our best outside shooter. Also, Thomas' size was a huge liability on defense. However, we got the win, so Stack pushed the ri...

Re: Ron Slay

I have loathed Ron Slay ever since his team on the early 00's ut teams with Tony Harris (who I already hated from his time at East HS beating my HS at sub-state). He was a loudmouth, he was arrogant without being able to back it up on the court, he played dirty, and some of my favorite moments from...

Re: Something I have never Understood About NCAA Tournament

The reasoning is that they are having the bottom 4 At-large seeds play in the 11 games, and the bottom 4 automatic bids play in the 16 games. May not make sense, but that is why they do it.

Re: Stute into the portal

Whatever his reasons, I'd give him the benefit of the doubt and wish him well. My sentiments exactly. I think he always gave his best effort. I think his offensive shooting woes was really affecting his entire game, and he became a liability down the stretch. I kept pulling for him to break out of ...

Re: Down goes Miss State

And, just like 10 days ago, Vanderbilt wins and Miss State loses. Good. Maybe that's why they were 8-10 in the SEC. Totally agree. Now if Auburn and Arkansas will just lose, I think we can feel somewhat vindicated. Oh, and KY too. I don't think that Miss State missing a tip in at the buzzer against...
