Re: A shout-out to the Byrce Drew/Will Healy brigade.

Hush. No one wants Bryce Drew. He was the worst coach I have ever seen. We just want Stackhouse to give the effort it takes in recruiting. You can’t just coach in college. Actually there were posts a few days ago worshipping the ground Drew walks on because his team swept Terlingston State. Plus th...

Well done. Twenty point road win.

I'm afraid to ask when the last one was... but this felt good.
I remember CKS having a 23 point loss at Miss. St. once, followed by a 22 point loss the next year to them.

Re: So if we trade Stackhouse for Alexander

We may need to move on from Stack or he may move on from us eventually. Still at least a year too early to know for sure IMO. Either way, I am not sold on Casey Alexander. OVC is not great this year. I recall a bottom half of SOCON Samford team beating Belmont convincingly earlier this year. Murray...

I’ll believe it when they sign.
Either way, you can always pull for Grand Canyon instead. It's an option.

Just trying to help.

Re: Recruiting update

Saw something on Shelby this morning and looked up Dort on 247 since they are supposed to be a package. Dort is only listed as “Warm” for Memphis on 247. Link? It was 4 hours ago on the VIP members only recruiting update that also includes some football news. It is against VM rules to cut & paste t...

Recruiting update

247Sports made an early prediction last week that 4-star 2022 guard Noah Shelby and 5-star center Lee Dort will ultimately choose Vanderbilt. The expectation is that Shelby and Dort are a package deal. "Coach Stack has decades of NBA experience that I could learn from," Shelby wrote. There was no me...

Re: So if we trade Stackhouse for Alexander

https://vanderbilt.forums.rivals.com/threads/poll-straight-up-alexander-for-stackhouse.64350/ OVC regular season heading to the home stretch. Top three are: Belmont 14-0 Morehead State. 12-2 Eastern Kentucky 9-3 OVC basketball season without Murray in the top 3 = meaningless. (BTW... EKU is leaving...

Re: OT: Super Bowl halftime

REM played at Sarratt Cinema on campus - I think 1983. It was not unusual for the Athens, Ga. bands to play around campus back then. REM, Georgia Satellites, etc. at Cantrells (where Chuy's is now 19th & Broad/Division) was a medium-large bar that had some of those show. Stray Cats was beyond sold ...

Re: So if we trade Stackhouse for Alexander

Do you mean the Alexander who had only 3 winning seasons in 8 years of coaching Stetson and DLU?

No thanks. And no thanks to Will Healy for football.

Nice interview. CCL is a very analytical guy, very intelligent. Not a "rah-rah" at all.

Pretty sure they made the best hire.

Re: OT: Super Bowl halftime

My favorite large venue concert at VU was Pink Floyd at the Dud in the 90's (1994?) and small venue show was Pat Metheny in 1980 at Langford Auditorium. Obviously I don't listen to Lorna Luft or Debby Boone. That was just goofing off. Obviously. (and increased ear wax doesn't cause frequent urination)

Talking Heads 1982 Memorial Gym. Was amazing!
With opening act Jason & The Scorchers. People were allowed to bring their own coolers and pony kegs!

Sound mix was terrible though. As it was when Living Colour was there in the 80's.

Re: This years talent

Disu and Pippen are players, and then we have some guys who can fill roles but wouldn't start anywhere else in the league. That doesn't mean one or two can't develop. When you think about the talent through here the last two years, you wonder why we didn't win games. Injuries were certainly a large...

^ ^ I remember the House of John Simmons and maybe a store called Sgt. Peppers that was either in Bandywood or Hillsboro Village (?)... but I can't recall what and where "Muntz" was.

Anybody remember the "Muntz" stores?

Re: Vandy-Auburn thread

We missed 11 free throws and lost by 6. Some of the misses were the front end of 1+1's meaning more than eleven points were probably forfeited. That is the biggest reason for the loss.
