Re: Tennessean: Five Vanderbilt football breakout candidates for 2023

They must have moved it because I was able to read it and I don't subscribe. From memory, one was Justin Ball at TE, another was Trudell Berry at DB. Maybe Chase Gillespie at RB?

Re: Hawaii intel?

I think you may have confused Todd Graham, former Rainbow's HC, with Todd Grantham, former DC at Georgia and Florida. Todd Graham was fired at Hawai'i amid some kind of scandal. Grantham is famous for his choke sign to an opposing kicker, wanting to fight James Franklin after a game, and other examp...

Re: Jayla Forbes Visits

Thompson has probably the strongest HS football program in Alabama right now. I know noting about thier hoops prgrams for either gender, but it is strong.

#90, true freshman Ted Gregoire, definitely passes the eye test for an SEC defensive lineman.

Re: Optimistic about the schedule?

dallasdore, I think you have Auburn confused with aTm - "Auburn (Petrino no magic in first year, home game for us, could be a W)"

Petrino is now Jimbo's OC at aTm.

If you had said Freeze, at Auburn, you would have been right.

He was once on the coaches commentary broadcast of a National Championship game while he was our coach. He did a very good job then.

I'M REPEATING MYSELF, BUT THERE'S A REASON

I may have missed someone else making this or a similar comment, but, ... how often do we or any other school get two transfers, in different sports, from the same school? In our case we got two Notre Dame transfers in the same year - Prince Kollie in football and Ven-Allen Lubin in basketball. I wo...

UT

Not real sure how to say this, except it never ends with UT fans. My UT-obsessed office mate went off on the NCAA today over the sanctions. But not complaining about them, other than that they were pointless. That stripping scholarships means nothing. They (UT) would simply go ahead and recruit whoe...

Re: Fulmer: "Vandy loss was hard to swallow... they had excellent QB who picked us apart."

Give him credit, he had his priorities right - beat Vandy at any cost, and, to paraphrase from a great movie "rules, we don't need no stinking rules."

Re: Vols Coaches with Show Cause Penalties

I may be wrong, but UT has to lead the pack. Pearl plus two assistants got show cause penalties. Pruitt plus 6 others got show cause orders. That's 10 total coaches and staff members over the years with show cause orders for activities at UT. Can any school beat that? Baylor got 3 for the Dave Bliss...

Vols Coaches with Show Cause Penalties

I can't help wondering - with the number of football coaches and staffers who received show cause penalties, and adding Bruce Pearl, does UT lead the nation in coaches and staffers who have received show cause penalties, all time and all sports?

Re: The Athletic (premium): VU Chancellor Harvie Branscomb proposed a "Magnolia League" in 1962; it went nowhere

I think that's about the time ('62-'63) that Branscomb unilaterally reduced the number of football scholarships available at VU.
