Re: Vanderbilt-Mississippi State Saturday
Raby is wild early. Even if he keeps state off the board, he probably won't make it 5 innings at this rate of pitch count. Our bullpen needs to be good tonight.

So who on the roster currently will most likely not be invited back next year?

Re: We Host!!!
btw if we're in the Fri-Sun bracket as opposed to Sat-Mon, I wonder if that means if we advance, would we play our first game in Omaha on the saturday instead of sunday? ***** just looked at a few prior year fri-sun super regional games and it doesnt seem to work out that way. If you had told me the...

Re: I believe we did quite well ...
Where will we put the recruits if some of these guys stick around? I was wondering that too. We have a pretty big class. Are there limits to how many guys can be on a roster? As far as the draft eligible, it seems odd for us to not have at least one or two guys go pretty early. But I'd still be sur...

Shouldnt have said anything. There goes Edwards at 38. Rocker must be any pick now.

Re: * MLB Draft (today)
Well there goes Hankins at 35 as predicted. Is the MLB draft a more known process in terms of what teams are thinking? NFL mock drafts are lucky to get a handful of selections correct. But this guy is basically 2 for 3 so far when mocking just vandy players.

Re: * MLB Draft (today)
Unless I missed somebody, Weathers was the only Vandy player to go in the first round. Round 1C is still happening. Pick 35 is currently on the clock. Based on the article above sounds like Hankins and Rocker should come off the board pretty soon. That article was predicting we'd lose Xavier Edwards...

Re: Ryan Weathers
Pick number 7 to San Diego. Slot value, $5,226,500. Bye Ryan. Yeah, it probably would be foolish for the young man to turn down that much money. I think these days, when it comes to the first round and especially the early part of the round, the teams know the player will sign or they wouldn't wast...

Re: Sec teams and Omaha
First game wouldnt be too bad but good chance that second game could be against Oregon St. They crushed everyone in their regional. SEC not having the greatest day. Miss St did get the win to advance as did SC. But Ole Miss got crushed by Tenn Tech and need to win the final game to advance. UGA lost...

Re: Sec teams and Omaha
Well a bunch of those teams havent clinched just yet, although it seems pretty likely they will. FL, UGA, Ole Miss, and SC were all delayed with weather. They are all 2-0 about to play their first game against the 2-1 team. Wouldnt put money on any of them losing twice today although I will say Ole ...

Maybe the thinking is if we win you save Raby for the regional clincher and if you lose you save Raby for one of the elimination games?

Re: Another Game of Extreme Interest Today
If the teams in each regional were chosen based on a "snake" draft or selection, then technically we'd be a higher ranked 2 than Miss St because Clemson was a lower ranked regional host than FSU. But of course they dont fill the regionals based on that. And it's moot because Miss St looks ...

Re: Clemson -VU and other First Round Wins
Too bad Morehead couldnt hold on last night. Will make our job much tougher today. Clemson's top 2 starters are almost indistinguishable so it'll be like playing their top starter tonight. Thankfully they needed 2+ innings from their best reliever last night and then threw out their 3 next best reli...

Fellows pitched great! And we've got a couple batters that are getting hot at the right time. What a difference a week makes. Things looked pretty bleak last wednesday. Hopefully we can finish strong this weekend.

No mercy rule? Suppose I dont fully know the rules around that.
Regardless, was happy we kept piling it on after we had a likely win stolen from us earlier in the year.

Re: SEc tournament
We're a lock to get in thanks to our showing in knoxville. As stated above, the UT-Mizzou loser is most likely the odd man out. Although I will say if Mizzou wins the series 2-1, both teams will finish with 12 wins. And Miss St and A&M are both currently at 12 wins... so if either of them also s...

Re: Sec tournament pitching rotation
Part of me thinks that if we win the first two against kentucky, then maybe we should save Hickman for the opening round game of SEC. But of course if we win two against kentucky, it's less likely that we'd need a strong showing in Hoover to get a national tourney seed spot. And on the flipside, if ...
