Re: Kentucky v Vanderbilt #2

Do you ******* have to interview JAMES FRANKLIN at the Vanderbilt game???

I was enjoying watching this and then they did that.

WHY????

Are they also going to interview all the basketball players that just entered the transfer portal?

Re: Redshirt catcher Cade Law is transferring

But the important thing, with all that is happening in the world, is that it is "God's Plan" that he walk away from the Vanderbilt baseball team in the middle of the season to play football somewhere else.

Oh my. The ego.

Re: SEC reportedly split on scheduling format: 3-6 or 1-7

There is NO WAY that they adopt a schedule that eliminates the annual game between Alabama and Tennessee and the annual game between Georgia and Auburn.

NO WAY.

Re: OT: Kentucky's Will Levis

I watch football in the fall, but don't follow the draft and the combine.

I'm shocked and amused that two quarterbacks who were outplayed by MIKE WRIGHT and who lost to a Vanderbilt team that had lost TWENTY SIX CONSECUTIVE SEC GAMES would go so high in the NFL draft.

Re: I Absolutely Hate the Transfer Portal and the NIL

I'm with you. I hate it. During the Stallings years, there were a lot of fine young men who played for Vanderbilt for 4 years (or at least 3) who my son and I got to know at the games and basketball camps and such. I've got photos of my son with Jeff Taylor, Lance Goulborne, Festus Ezeli and John Je...

No more alumni basketball games, I suppose

In 2013 -- which in hindsight was during a "golden era" of Vanderbilt sports --I took my son to an alumni game at Memorial Gym where players from 1990-2006 played players from 2007-2013. Byars, Mario Moore, Foster, Goulbourne, Tchiengang, Corey Smith, etc. I guess Vanderbilt won't be able ...

Yep.

The only thing clear after this weekend is that LSU is the best team in the SEC.

Re: Does this mean the season is over?

To be honest, statistically it's hard to see where our strengths are on offense. In the 14 team league, Vanderbilt is 12th in batting average, 11th in slugging percentage, 10th in on-base percentage, 9th in hits and 12th in home runs. However, we are number one in opposing batting average... or at l...

Does this mean the season is over?

Only a week ago, VU beat #6 South Carolina, solidifying its number 4 ranking. Since that time they've lost 4 games, 3 of them in humiliating fashion, and all of them to teams that were unranked at the time. (I'm making the brave assumption that they won't overcome the 9-0 deficit.) I don't think I'v...

#3 Florida AND #5 Arkansas got swept...

... by Georgia and South Carolina, respectively.

And Vanderbilt is number 4.

Strange weekend, to say the least.

Petry had a 3-run homer for South Carolina, and the freshman now has NINETEEN home runs.

Good grief, kid.

At one point does everyone just intentionally walk the guy?

Strange game, in that it feels like all our base runners come when we already have 2 outs.

Re: CJS tweets response to 247 story

Someone maybe oughta explain to him what this program went through when James Franklin left. Vanderbilt fans have been through a promising coach who left before, and not all that long ago, and it was pretty awful, and it dragged on for weeks and weeks. But I'm glad that he seems to be saying that he...

Re: Number 6 in the SEC; number 1 in the nation

Not sure what theory you are talking about. You mean how they pick the number 1 team in the country?

I'm just pointing out that right now, if the SEC tournament began, LSU would go in as the 6 seed.

Just an interesting indication of just how good the SEC is in baseball.

Unusual game, to say the least.

All those insurance runs that Vanderbilt was getting in the 6th, 7th and 8th because of aggressive base running ending up being really important.

Re: Rather basic questions about the "portal"

So in the case of all these Vanderbilt players that are announcing that they are in the portal, do fans ever learn whether they might still be graduating in May, or whether they have already left campus?

Rather basic questions about the "portal"

If someone announces that they are "in the transfer portal," does that mean that they have left campus and are no longer a student? Or CAN it mean that, but it doesn't have to? I say this because I think it's strange if Jordan Wright it still a Vanderbilt student, even though he's just bro...

Re: Who isn’t in the portal?

To summarize the news... About 14 people have announced that they are running for Nashville mayor. About half that number are Vanderbilt basketball players who have announced that they are the transfer portal. The number was 10 and 5, and the ratio seems to be that 2 people run for mayor about at th...
