Re: Aerial stadium photos

FYI... The stadium is so old (originally built more than 100 years ago) that when it was built, NO ONE KNEW THAT THE PARTHENON WAS GOING TO BE A PERMANENT FIXTURE on the Nashville landscape. The original Parthenon was built in the 1890s out of materials that weren't mean to last. In 1922, no one kne...

Re: Corbs says Holton unlikely for this weekend; Owen 50/50

Regardless of who pitches, it takes more than 4-5 hits and 1-2 runs to win a normal baseball game. In its last SEC games, Vanderbilt has scored 2, 4, 1, 0, 2 and 2 runs. Obviously the only one we won was the one in which we scored more than 2 runs. I know the schedule has gotten tougher, but it is a...

Re: FLA #3

Gee guys, we have 2 starting pitchers out and a couple injured and we got a home stand with a chance to make some real hay. We are not done, but we have to play a hell of a lot bettervand we can. As for this game too early to call it. If my post results in a meal of raw crow, then I will gladly con...

Re: FLA #3

Assuming this plays out, Vanderbilt is 4-8 in the SEC, and 1-8 on the road in the SEC, since starting 13-2.

I would say that I've never seen anything like this in a long time, but then again, it's been only a few months since the Titans pulled off the biggest collapse in NFL history.

Some version of the NIL existed at VU.... in 1901

In 1901 there was a clothing store in Nashville which gave free suits to Vanderbilt football star John Edgerton in exchange for the right to use his name. The clothier ran ads in the Hustler and I think in Nashville newspapers that said "John E. Edgerton will be glad to see his friends at Varle...

Re: Carter Holton scratched for tonight

Meanwhile... correct me if I'm wrong, but losing this series 2-1 is not a disaster for Vanderbilt, because if we win one and lose 2, then after the series, Vanderbilt is 18-9 and Florida is 17-10. That gets us back home next weekend, and it seems like HOME teams have a huge advantage across the conf...

I've got to agree with the sentiment here.

Re: Notre Dame LB transfer headed to Vandy?

Hope so!

We could use a good linebacker from Jonesborough!

Also... any high school football player who left Washington County to play at Notre Dame is special in many ways.

Re: QMB to The Citadel

I know there isn't a military OBLIGATION, but don't you still have to still put on uniforms at the Citadel and drill? It was my experience when I was in the military that people who went to the Citadel and VMI were FAR more conservative than people who went to the military academies. In any case, if...

Re: Interesting league slate this weekend

Wow... you are right... EVERY SINGLE SERIES this weekend features a home team against a higher ranked road team, other than Ole Miss-Mizzou. Meanwhile, Vanderbilt has 7 straight road games, which is interesting because the Commodores have only had 10 true road games so far out of 44 games so far. Th...

That's a BIG win, especially when you consider that Vanderbilt has 7 straight road games coming up at Alabama, Louisville and Florida starting Thursday.
